Anyone know if it's any good?

There have been a handful of negative posts about M&S service to their savers on these pages.

But is there any reason to believe that if I put in about £40k, I'll have any issues getting it back?

The first £85k is protected by the UK Financial Services Compensation Scheme so your £40k will be safe. The interest rate has a bonus for 12 months after that it will reduce by 1%.

From a safety point of view, no.

From a service point of view, who knows?

They're hopeless.

I've opened a Post Office one in 5mins - same rate.

i applied for an m&s account a week ago. still waiting to hear from them...

Applied for Tesco, M&S, and Post Office.

Already have significant amount in 3 yr fixed ISA with M&S, not heard from them yet.

Tesco, after applying nearly a month ago and several irate phone calls, will hopefully open account soon.

Post Office?, still floating around in space somewhere.

Still waiting for comfirmation of G.E. 18month bond opening.


Had bank acc. for over 40yrs, never had an overdraft, never been in debt, mortgage free for over 20yrs.
