David Wilson Homes vs. Miller Homes

I have worked for a number of housebuilders, including some of those mentioned above.
In my opinion, specification aside, the build quality and finish is always down to the quality of the subcontractors employed on site, and in particular the knowledge, experience and professionalism of the Site Manager on site who overseas it all and is employed by the house builder. Doesn't matter which housebuilder it is if the site manager /subcontractors are no good.
If you want to find out what the build quality is like, you could always knock on some doors of the occupied units to see what the new owners think!
Personally, if I had the choice, I would never buy a new house (nor one built in the last 30 years)!0 -

Barrats hardly has a good reputation in house building. Heck, not many house builders these days have one.
As car25 makes a point of, a lot depends on the sub-contractors involved, but all too often these are purchased on the cheap, not according to skill.
By the way, if your FIL is with Persimmon, does this not introduce an element of bias?0
