I had that last year - the price they increased by they couldnt tie up to the breakdown they provided.

They have saved themselves that problem this year by not announcing the in individual breakdown.

The price is different for everyone on the basis we all have different prices and deals for the same thing.

I renegotiated with retentions who called me last night, wiped out the increase and even got a further discount. Happy with what I got :)

When I phoned them, my supposed increase of £5.34 was actually £4.10 as the letters did not calculate correctly if the user was on the Pre-pay line rental plan!

Looks as though it is simply a guide, than actuality!

Why not take out the phoneline? I have phoneline, size M phone, size M (the smallest) TV but with TIVO box and up to 30MB broadband for £31.90 a month. I have reduced this further by paying my phone line rental upfront for the year with the Line Rental Saver offer (£120 ) and my monthly bill before telephone charges is now £18.

There is no monthly rental charge for the TIVO box and I pay by Direct Debit with paperless billing.

£18 a month for all three details here

The £49.99 connection charge will get waived if you haggle. My installation took about 10 days from phoning.
    When did you haggle?
I called up disconnections yesterday and asked for a free Tivo box after they claimed they could not give me any further discounts. I was told that there was no way the system would allow it and in the end they found that they could indeed reduce my price increase by upgrading my BB to 30MB(standard for new customers?) and sending me a superhub whatever that is. From what I was promised I will only be paying 50p more but I will have to keep tabs on that because everytime I have called up about the price increase I have been given a different figure on each occasion(4 times and counting)

Is that 50p more without your increase or on top of your increase?

Received e-mail notifying me of £4.74 increase a week ago.

Rang CS and told them I would ditch the lot (XL TV, XXL Phone, and 120 Mbit BB) unless my price stayed the same as it has been for the last 2 years (£65.17).

Also mentioned that they have broadcast the same tired old regurtitated crap no less than 5 times in the last 2 years and that secured the deal for me.

When the increase comes in, it will now only be 50p or at least that was what I was told.

I finally spoke to someone in retentions a couple of days ago and after confirming I was cancelling due to the price increase she said it was impossible to keep the same price for my current package as it was no longer available. I explained it was a custom retentions deal as far as I was aware and that I didn't want to change my package but that I wasn't willing to pay more for it.

After a bit of discussion she said I could go onto the M TV package (currently on M+) but that would take the package down to £30 per month. She then chipped in that this package would be going up by £1.09 and then offered to credit 12 months worth to the account immediately.

No idea why she didn't just offer to refund the cost of the increase as that would have meant me still paying more per month but there ya go.

Also gained slightly on the phone package by getting some inclusive mobile minutes but I need still to double check that as I couldn't see any mention of it on the website - think it was called call 150 or something like this and included 150 mins of 0845/0870 and mobile mins.

Mind you there is no such thing TV M either on the website so I'm not getting my hopes up of finding any info :)

TV M is the freeview channels, so look on the M+ list and compare to the standard freeview channels...it does exist for retention customers...
