extremely poor internet connection

I am potentially moving into a property owned by family and I know they have internet problems so I have been researching the internet options available. The house is in a city on a relatively new estate (around 15 years old).

Apparently internet is poor on the whole estate and virgin media don't supply this postcode however all of the other local streets are able to get cable! Do you know if I will be able to persuade or even pay virgin to provide cable to my house?

I would suggest that you knock on the neighbours and ask them what speeds they get, if you find they are all low then there probably is not much you will be able to do.

I believe that Virgin will only supply if their cable pass your door.

I would also suggest you use BT Wholesales site to check the speed estimate .

Also try ordering online with the provider you want as the first part of the order will check the line speed and give you an estimate and you can choose to go ahead or not.
The results you have had so far do not look good but an address check is never as reliable as a live working telephone number.
