Non fault accident

Had a small shunt up the back of my car (ford fiesta) by a land rover. I've taken my car to get an estimate on repairing the damages. The rear end needs spraying, I need a new bumper support etc, the total comes to just below £500. Anyway, the guy that did it wasn't happy with the estimate, said he was going to phone the garage but hasn't until now. In the meanwhile I've contacted easi-drive, a non fault accident company. They have contacted Garvins solicitors. I think they sort of the repairing of my car, a replacement vehicle and personal injury claims etc. we have a 7 day cooling period. Today the guy that hit my car has agreed to pay for my car to get fixed. However I don't know what to do as 1. He's not exactly reliable, 2. I have back pain that won't be resolved if I let him just pay the bill. 3. I won't have a car for 2-3 days whilst my car gets fixed. I've never had an accident before and I'm worried I may end up paying for solicitors etc etc when none of this was my fault! Do I just accept his offer and cancel easi-drive and the solicitors or continue. Help!!

Solicitors you wont end up paying for assuming your honest through out the process.
The risk is more about the credit hire and repairs given they add a good 50% on to standard rates (or more) and insurers are now clamping down and challenging your need to get a car on credit rather than hiring one out of your own pocket and claiming back the cost or of cause just using a courtesy car from the garage.
The ambulance chasers of cause make a lot of money by selling your details details to the solicitors and credit providers etc which is why they are so keen for you to claim and go through them.0 -
so you didnt have pain when he first offered to pay, but now you have....did you see £££Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

That's not a particularly helpful reply when I've had the pain since the incident which happened days ago, the guy has only offered to pay the estimate TODAY which may not be the total cost. .
Inside insurance I am fully comp and I'm now thinking I should just use my own insurance company to get it sorted?0 -

So you had pain at the time. Have you reported your injury to the police?0 -
Have you also thought about the fact that even a non fault claim on your record, which you will have to declare for the next 3-5 yrs will bump up your insurance premiums.0

Give the details to your insurance company, let them deal with it, thats what you pay them for.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

You will still need to pursue the third party insurer for your uninsured losses if you use your own insurance (eg excess, compensation for injury/hire cars etc).
Another way will be to use your own accident/injury solicitors to sort everything for you. They will deal with the third party insurer without you having to make a claim off your own policy.
Also google cashback accident lawyers to find no fee firms who will pay you £100s cashback for giving them your instructions (on top of any compensation they win you)0 -
Give the details to your insurance company, let them deal with it, thats what you pay them for.
When you claim off your own insurer when there is no dispute over liability you are still left with hassle (eg. you have to claim back your excess, plus all your uninsured losses from the third party, and you may find your NCD reduced (temporarily, till your insurer us reimbursed) causing issues if you have to renew your policy with the matter not concluded.
(And your own insurance won't cover you for compensation for pain/injury etc)0 -
Yes accident reported to police. Also already reported to my own insurance company for information purposes, they have acknowledged this being the only reason I have told them and if I wish to claim I need to contact them ASAP.
What is the general consensus on accident management companies like easi-drive etc. I'm just concerned there may be a clause that I end up paying for something?0
