I was trying to send some photos and now I think I have a virus? I have a trillion copies of shortcuts on my desktop and as quick as I delete them, more appear? I have run avg and deleted 3 things but it's still happening.

Yup sounds like a virus. The more you switch off your pc and re-boot, it will make it worse. Download all your valuable piccies or documents onto a disc. Then either take your pc to be disinfected or run your restore disc. You need Norton or McAffee virus protection, and even then some viruses find their way through. Moneysaving tip. buy the virus protrction off the company's US website vsite by credit or debit card. This will be in dollars and cheaper than in GBP sterling. You can then download straight onto your pc. Hope this helps.0

yes...AVG Albert lol
I have run avg and deleted 3 things
Shanni, not need to restore evrything...that malware thread will sort you out , used the same steps myself to fix a friends PC this morningremoved 1652 infected files !! and 4 bits of nasty Spyware .....there are links to FREE antivirus in that thread to download , no need to buy Nortons or Mcaffee...the free alternatives are just as good !!
and you will not lose anything off the PC

My eyesight's not what it used to be..
Is it my imagination, or does everyone on here who seems to have an infection have AVG already? I now some are spyware, but the AV industry seems to be letting us down, about time they got their act together - they can't even agree on a common naming standard.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -

I've already run avg anti vrus and the avg spyware. It was the avg spyware that found 3 things which I deleted.Shanni0
