Well I kind of got good news today but think it may have a sting in it's tail.
I originally came to MSE about something called Loanguard Cover which I noticed had been coming off what was then our joint bank account with RBS. Nobody could give me a definitive answer as to whether it was classed as PPI so I left it for a couple of years. I phoned up RBS about 6 weeks ago when I'd finally decided I had nothing to lose.
I had it added up that this Loanguard cover was roughly £600 but received a letter today from RBS offering me £2308!
The sting in the tail is that although the letter is in my name, the account was a joint one and although both me and my OH are supposed to be discharged from bankruptcy, he still pays £10 a week towards his so there's a chance that the accountant in bankruptcy could come after half of my OH's money. What was slightly curious is that the letter was addressed to me only and usually when it's to do with the joint account both of our names are used.
I've been in touch with the local money advice centre and he's going to talk to an insolvency expert about it but even if it's only me that gets 50% of the money, it was still 100% more than I was expecting!!
Tweets that is good news. I honestly hope you find some way to keep all the money that is offered to you. You deserve it after going through bankruptcy and all the heartache that goes with it.....it happened to a close friend of mine and I know it's a horrible time:(
Good luck with it x0 -

Odd! But does this mean it wouldn't work as a trigger?0 -

It says it can take up to 28 days to refund so doubt it'd make it for Christmas but it does mean we won't have to worry about bills after Christmas :j
I'm off to bed now, had a busy day! Nighty night everyone :wave:Many a mickle makes a muckle.0 -

Odd! But does this mean it wouldn't work as a trigger?
I'm not sure what the op thinks they've found ( can't see their posts) but I've only found a couple of things cheaper elsewhere and it's only 21p, hardly worth bothering with
