Er, Tete, I just read your thread without commenting as you said you were off the internet and here you are... :D

Haha - off the internet after checking in here! OBVS. I actually did get quite a bit done yesterday in the end, still plenty to do today though :(

Yikes to your hair Birdie! It's annoying - if you'd wanted to spend £50 on your hair you'd have booked in at the hairdressers' in the first place! I'm sure they can fix it though and you'll have a lovely glossy mane once more! I'm getting mine done next weekend, thinking of going strawberry blonde for a change. I went extra-blonde last time and it's far too light and I hate it, so I need something to warm up my corpse-like features!

Few drinks tonight with the cousins, bit of running Sunday, going to make a pie and other than that want to get some sewing/knitting/crochet done for this blasted challenge!

Eeeek to the hair Birdie! But very much enjoying the word dye-saster :D I've had a few of those in my time - I once ended up with green hair after trying to dye my bleached blonde bob dark brown! I'm sure the hairdresser will fix you - are you going to keep the blonde ends or go back completely brown?

Weekend plans sound lovely all round. I am going for Sunday lunch with the folks, so for the first time in weeks I won;t be spending the entire weekend covered in paint! Hoping to get something crafty done for the challenge too with a bit of luck.

But most the most important question remains: Tete, what kind of pie are you making?

Ooh speaking of pies, I've bought this for OH for our anniversary! :D Going to bake a pie in it at some point but not sure what kind. :o

Don't really know what I'm going to have done with my hair. It's cheapest (obviously) to just dye it back to brown which I'm tempted to do but when I booked, the hairdresser left it open to discussion and said she may be able to make it look like it was supposed to look, but it'll cost more as it'll involve lowlights and highlights as well as a patch colour over the yellow! OH has offered to pay half (bless him!) but only up to £35 and I don't really want to be spending a fortune! :) My friend wasn't overly impressed when I told her that she's ruined my hair and I was off to get it fixed by a professional! :o

Enjoy your less-paint-splattered weekend Shrimpy! :)

Sadly excited to have got onto a pampers free nappy trial, only one large free pack of nappies, but it all helps and maybe there will be more in the future. As part of the trial I have to spread the word about pampers, so, buy pampers, they have cute starfish patterns on them.

I'm with CMD on the holiday mentality, I do think it's important to have some time alone, being mummy and daddy 365 days a year can make it hard to be a couple too. But I think that that time is for maybe two nights away, not a full week, but then I also want Grace to be comfortable with other people not just me all the time, as she's already showing signs of seperation anxiety crying when NIM goes to work, or when I so much as leave the room she's in if she's not with him instead. As regards asking someone to look after her that long, my mum and dad wouldn't ever give her back if we didn't put our foot down!

Have to use the points this year I think CMD, I did think hard about asking to do it next year and booking this year, but as we're thinking of trying for number 2 I think that a holiday next year would be infinately harder. Although my best friend is moving to South Africa for a year in June, if we're not expecting/with baby/have enough holiday time left we could always take Grace to see penguins and lions all on one trip maybe? Or go back to Dubai instead of New York... hmm, I'm going to have some fun looking at hotels today me thinks.

Thanks for reminding me on STP Flower, will have to do some reviews.

Lara, houses to rent on the island are more than the hotel, which is mad when there are so many of us, it's basically the travel which is our only hope for saving money on. I think we've worked out what we're doing though, about £500 per person before food etc for 11 days away, not too bad I guess. The island it's on is Paros Cinny.

Grace had me up before 5am again this morning, I am desperate for a night's sleep.

  • Hi, did everyone have a good Valentines day? I ended up cooking dinner even though I'm still not 100% better, because OH wanted Steak and he can't cook it properly apparently.

Hope Grace lets you have a better nights sleep tonight Dinah. £500 for 11 days doesn't sound too bad at all, compared to the prices you were mentioning before!

Hope you're hairdresser can sort your hair out Birdie! That's why I never dye my hair, I'm worried about it going wrong.

I have a hair appointment this afternoon myself. I haven't had my hair cut in about 8 months and it's really starting to show. Plus I have a wedding reception to go to tonight and it means one less thing to worry about! Thinking about going for something a bit like Christina Hendricks...but we'll see what happens when I get there!

Your spa trip sounds great Poolie. Hope it's going well with Mrs P :)

Eeep Birdie sorry to hear about the dye-staster! Hope it will not be too expensive to remedy?

Ruby - I like the sound of the Christina Hendricks 'do.

Shrimpy - great news about the weekend treats.

Tete, your weekend sounds lovely too.

Dinah - that sounds like a good price for 11 days, and at least that would be a good holiday too. Can you use the Tesco points for your travel costs for the wedding? Or is it just the big airlines?

I have been working hard this week and am the proud owner of a plan for my introductory chapter :j (This is much more exciting than it sounds ;)) And - this weekend I'll be working on the glamour closet. Excitement!

    Morning,

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Mine was nice . Went to see my friend and her baby friday then went to see my parents and went out for lunch for my mums birthday sat.

I did some STP and managed to redeem $10 and almost another $10 too which i am going to try and do tonight.

That is great about the pampers trial Dinah. Think i went for the same one but didn't get it.

I have nearly finished my invites now, going to post a pic of a finished one later.

£7 into the savings for those on the weekly savings.

NIM woke up with his hand hurting yesterday, today it's worse so he came out of work and went to the NHS drop in centre. He's just called to say they've sent him on to A&E so fingers crossed it's nothing serious.

I've made my admission on Facebook, but I'll make it here too. At the start of Feb I took up running. I kept it secret from NIM and my family for a fortnight in case I hated it or my knee couldn't cope, but I'm out of the closet and starting on the couch to 5k. I realised it's all well and good loosing weight and looking skinny, but I want to be fit and healthy too.

Well done for couch to 5k Dinah!

I started it last Jan (I don't think I'd done any exercise since leaving school about 15 years ago before I started!) and now go to a running club weekly, not quite at Tete's level yet ;) but it really works and you can see your fitness improving - if you're enjoying it keep with it!

  • Haha MagicCat, you're under some sort of illusion about me! Well done on the running Dinah, I agree with the above, with the C25K plan you can really see improvement in a short space of time.Hope NIM's hand is OK!

Wendz can't wait to see your invites! I'm hoping to get some sewing done tonight, both babies I'm sewing for have now been born - I'm always playing catch-up, it's so stressful (although I've been busy with my poorly kitty the last couple of days - see my diary! :() Lara, how is the glamour closet coming on??? Would love pics!
