Good thinking about the union Tete, I never think about that as our company doesn't recognise unions so I'm not a member of one!
We're not too bothered about a break being *too* cheap, just don't want to get to the point where it's actually just going to be better value for money to go to Spain or Turkey for a whole week instead of 3 days in a city.Although a week in the sun would be no great hardship!
I hear you on, well, everything you've said clothes-wise!I always refuse to spend a lot on work clothes but I wear my work dresses more than I wear my night-out dresses (and they go through the washing machine a lot more) so really that's where the quality ought to be. I love the idea of keeping a log of everything I buy and keeping track of what I actually get wear out of and what was a total waste of money! Will do that, might make me think twice about silly purchases (and cheap Primark leggings!)
I hope you do go for a 40s theme Wendz, sounds super fun! You'll have to draw seams on your legs!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Your work "doesn't recognise unions"?? That's pretty shoddy! I was actually on the verge of leaving the union as they basically did nothing when we actually had the move (not for want of trying really, but what work were doing was legal, I was just looking for some sort of goodwill gesture - none forthcoming. Plus my colleague who left managed to get a payoff and she hadn't even been a member of the union until it all kicked off, so she paid her membership for a couple of months and got a few £k to leave with, I've been paying mine for five years and got nada - I was pretty annoyed!) but I'll see what they say on this matter.
Well I love a good list as you know so I'll be keeping track of my purchases this year - hopefully it'll stop me buying quite so much!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
I am also sorry to hear about the work situation Tete

Oops I may have just ordered 3 new dresses for work from that website
I did go through Quidco and used the new customer 10% off code though.
Must dig out a notebook and write down my first purchases to make sure that they were a worthy spend!
Oh and yes, my company is pretty shoddy with the whole union thing. It's how they get away with making branch and warehouse staff work weekends (should be time and a half) in lieu of having a weekday (single time) off! Terrible! It's also how they got away without giving payrises for 2 years and when staff complained they were told 'You're lucky you have a job'!

Sounds like my old company, SOOOO glad I'm gone from there. Mind you the problem with where I am now is there are over 100 staff on site here each day...and one of them has landed me with some form of cold so I cant go home tonightThis was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0 -
Hope your cold has cleared up today NIM, there's so much going around at this time of year its difficult to avoid catching something. Hope Dinah is ok too.
On the wedding front, I have booked the photographer and have arranged to meet a possible caterer, got the number of another to ring today too, so am making some progress again.
I thought I would get so much done being off work but the days just seem to fly past at the moment, need to get motivated today. We should get a new completion date for the house today so hopefully that might spur me on.
Well done on the weightloss Wendz & Tete! I will be joining you in a couple of weeks once I can exercise again and the house is sorted - it will be easier once I'm back at work as I always eat well there and just scoff at home (I know that's a bit of a cop out)

Hope you're feeling better NIM
Must be awful being full of cold and not being able to go home!
Well done on getting wedding stuff sorted Shrimpy! :T You've got a good excuse to scoff right now (it takes a lot of energy to recover...), enjoy it while you can!Don't push yourself into exercise too quickly either, nice and gentle!
I've lost 4lbs this week but I'm pretty sure that's down to losing the TOTM bloating rather than any real effort!Going to have to work harder next week but felt too sorry for myself this week to really think about diet and exercise!
I've ordered these dresses Shrimpy: Dress 1, Dress 2, Dress 3.They should be OK for work (if they're not too short!).

I'm eyeing up a couple more too but will see what these are like before spending any more money (and I don't get paid until next Friday so I'm skint now!)
This will be the year I look put together at work; I spend so long wishing I looked more like the really nicely dressed women in my office I might as well try to join them!
All I need now is some nice cardigans and shoes
(And I guess I should stop using my Disney bag!

Oh and challenge-wise I'm up to 93 things.
Falling behind a bit now and I never get much done at the weekend but I'm going to try to knock some little odd jobs off! Last night I had to bite the bullet and drop a couple of cocktail fountains at Toxic Friend's house (that her ex had lent us -without us really asking for them- back in September and we've struggled to get either of them to accept them back since!). I was sooo happy to see that she wasn't in so I didn't have to see her, just hid them round the back of the house and legged it!
That was my last tie to her so feel like a weight has been lifted (and we've got some space in our cupboard again!).
I'm also charity-shopping the !!!!!! vase she bought us for our wedding; we kept it and displayed it as it was the polite thing to do, but now I don't want her coming into my home she won't see that it's not there. TBH, if she did come in and question it's disappearance I'd tell her where we'd sent it out of badness!
How's everyone else doing with the challenge? Any impressive clear-outs?Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0
