Oooh my sis lives in Leeds so a meet there might be a possibility. Any of those dates are ok for me at the moment I think. I haven't caught up with your diary yet Zig so will go off and hunt it down now!

Ahhh why you feeling down Star? :(

We've not really got any plans so far for the Easter break, just Sunday lunch at my parents (with my very pregnant constantly-belly-rubbing SIL who has lost the ability to talk about anything other than her baby! :p). If it's nice I'm sure we'll have some picnics and BBQs out and about, but with the weather as it is I'm not holding out much hope for sun! :)

Hope to be booking a holiday this weekend! :j Not sure where though, we were all set for the Dominican but OH keeps grumbling about going to Spain or Turkey (he can't be bothered with the 9 hour flight!) so I guess the hunt for the best location at the best price is on, then have to see if our friends agree! :)

Leeds or York are good for me. York's much nicer for a day out, we could find a free attraction to go to maybe? :) Said on Zig's thread, but 11/12th May suits me. :)

Something was said last night at a meeting that I took as a personal attack. I realise now that it probably wasn't and more of a whinge on the other party's side but its left me feeling very low this morning :(

I have a "friend" like your SIL Birdie. When I had DD she told me that maybe we shouldn't bother as much now as I had become boring as all I talked about was DD. now she has her own child, her FB is full of baby related stuff. :rotfl: luckily I can laugh about it now!

Maybe we need to do an MSE meet down south in the summer as well as a northern spring one, plenty of notice so people can get cheap trains and a hotel if they want to make a weekend of it?

I'd prefer York too! Mainly because I've been there, I'd be lost in Leeds :o

Sunday would be better for me, with working Saturdays, but I can take a holiday day if Saturday works better for the majority :) Also, York is a short train ride for me and only something silly like £13 for a return ticket so if anyone's coming from further away I could always chip in for tickets or buy some Betty's macaroons for someone looking at a phatter fare? Think it'll be amazing if we could get everyone there, we've all "known" each other years!

London would work for me too, I can get a cheap £15 megaa bus if not the train :) I'll probably be there with my Sister though, she'd disown me if I went to London without her! (as long as she's still here :()

Sorry you're feeling blue, Star! I felt just the same at work recently, speak to the person who made the comment and just ask if it was aimed at you (even if you think it wasn't in retrospect) to clear the air a little, you'll feel better for it :)

York is twice the price of Leeds for me but obviously go with the majority.

Sorry Star, we cross posted. Sorry to hear you're feeling down. Work environments can be such a pressure cooker, you spend so much time with people you wouldn't necessarily choose to associate with if you had the choice. Sometimes people just don't express themselves very well, you'd like to think if it was aimed at you that the person concerned would've raised it with you directly. I agree with Cinny, if its troubling you it would be better to clear the air. (If it were me though I'd probably be too chicken, and just eat chocolate and sulk for a bit!)

Just looked at tickets and its coming in at about £50 for a return - eeep! Same difference to York or Leeds though. I can get to London for £12 return - madness! I'm sure I can find something a bit cheaper with a bit of jiggery-pokery though. I guess it would cost about the same in petrol (I never drive anywhere remotely far away so that is pure guesswork!)

ETA have wiggled it down to £40 already - phew!

It wasn't really like that. I knew she was annoyed as she had send me some rather abrupt texts over the weekend but it wasn't just aimed at me it was other people too (and she does like whinging) so it didn't bother me. Last night she brought the matter up at the meeting and I
gave my point of view then everyone else started to 'defend' me almost. Like it was all my fault and I needed defending. No one else was mentioned after that, just me, like I was the only one at fault. I was so cross but as chairperson it wouldn't have been professional of me to have a strop
