It's between her and her ex husband, if you stop involving yourself and telling her anything chances are your relationship with both her and your grandchildren will survive much better.
In my opinion he's being more than fair, and if she pushes she risks losing - but perhaps she has to learn that.
As for 'are the kids able to do all the things they could before' as a yardstick (sorry daska, usually I agree with what you put!) - I think that's completely irrelevant.
I would suspect in very few cases indeed when parents seperate do children have the luxury of everything they had before. Suddenly there are two houses to support - commuting to see the children to factor in, reduced support via childcare from the other parent to facilitate working longer hours for (generally) mum.... In my experience if you are able to seperate a marriage, generate two homes and have the kids not miss out financially you are a rare creature.
Of course the new man is now living there, so he should be supporting the household too....
Sorry OP, your daughter doesn't come across as very pleasant.0 -
Tell daughter to get her new bloke to pony up the extra cash if he wants to enjoy keeping her bed warm.
If I was the husband, I'd have this money grabbing woman brought down a peg or three.0
