Signing up for Sky Movies

I added the Sky Movies Pack to our Sky subscription yesterday as we always have it for a 1 month over Christmas. Usually I call up Sky the next day to give 31 days notice so we only have it for the month. I was surprised though when I saw that it is only £8 a month extra. We are now considering keeping it for a couple of month's but does anyone know how long it will stay at this price? Also, can we still choose to cancel the movies pack at any time by giving 31 days notice? I mean we won't have to keep the movies for a year or something as we are getting them cheaper?

  • I think your best bet is to check with Sky directly for offers of this kind. I think it's highly unlikely to have a year-long minimum term as it's an add on , but you may find the offer is only for a few months
  • I would double check.. They like to add offers onto the movie channels around Christmas, as many customers both on Sky and Virgin do what you're doing and have it for the month when most are at home for half of the month.

    For £8 a month, it's a good deal

If you are getting Movies for £8 / month its a 50% discounted rate as its usually £16/month. You have probably signed up for a 12 month contract. Of course I could be wrong.

I just did the same and was told £8 per month for 6 months, may keep it for that bit longer than usual

Any idea how you get this offer, it isn't showing in MySky.

The offer to upgrade to Movies for half price is there IF I have sports already, but I don't have sports, I just want movies for the Chrimbo period...

Nice one for the OP, maybe they didn't check in at the Hotel California after all.
