Have you tried Babelfish? I don't get what you're asking.

    Hi Greeneye,
I think that what the buyer or potential buyer is asking is
Would you post out of Great Britain, If yes how much would it be. Thank you.
    Hope that helps

Will you post to Great Britain and how much will is cost? Thanks? (sort of!)

Are you asking this to a Geman seller then????

I assume that as its "literal" german
  • I've just asked my friend on msn, will post the answer if she ever replies!

No joy I'm afraid, but from what I can remember of A-Level German I'd definitely go with koennten Sie... as suggested below

I know a little German and imagine that they'll get the gist from that, the only word that worries me is 'wurden' /'would' I tried can you send in babelfish and it came out "Können Sie nach Großbritannien senden?" It might be a bit plainer that way but I'm not an expert!

It might be worthwhile adding 'Ich kann kein Deutsches sprechen' (I was taught that by a German) and then they know you can't speak German!

Just checked with Mr Fritha who speaks better German than me and he says my version might be little less open to being miscontrued and he thinks instead of the second sentence 'Wenn ja wievielen kostet das?" If so much how much does it cost.

    Hope that helps :-)

  • I ended up with this:

    "Gutentag,
Ich kann nicht viel Deutsche sprechen.
Ich frage mich wenn Sie es nach Grossbritannien versenden koennten...
Und wenn ja, wieviel waere das kosten?
    Vielen Dank."

    Translation:

    "Hello,
    I can't speak much German.
I'm wondering if you could ship it to Great Britain...
And if so, how much would that cost?
    Thank you."

    Cheers :)

Why don't you just write to them in English?

Most Germans speak English to some extent or at least understand written English.
  • Whilst foreigners will be pleased you are trying to communicate with them in their own language, you will find that most Germans can speak better English than most of us! :rotfl:

    10/10 for trying ! Can't knock it....

Sprechen Sie Englisch bitte? (Do you speak Englsh please?) may be a good opener.
