nom nom
quite tasty even if I say so myself!
It's the first soup I've had since I got out of hospital  (I normally eat it most days at work) as I haven't been able to have any veg.
Have you any idea how difficult it is to make soup with no veg!
Anyway, it's a lot more basic than it would usually be .... chicken stock base, some of the wee bits of chicken that were picked from the carcass a leek, a couple of carrots and a bit of swede - very slowly introducing some veg now & I'm usually OK with the root vegs so starting with them (just a little at a time tho!) ETA I've just had a potato so must've thrown a few of those in too!
There was more left than I thought so a portion's gone in the freezer - I'm not that keen on soup once it's been frozen but it will do for a freezing cold day .... why is it when you're trying to empty your freezer, you end up filling the bits you've freed up with something else!:oGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

I know exactly what you mean, LOL!
my freezer is full of all kinds of bits and bobs, mainly leftovers from previous meals. I am determined to run it down at some point...the only problem is that i'll also have to refill it then!0 -
Glad it's not just me with the freezer!:D
I did an inventory of them the other week and couldn't believe what was in themand I very nearly ended up buying stuff at Mr T this morning as meat & fish were both on 3 for £10 ....
BUT if you've already got a load of stuff to use - it's £10 that you don't need to spend now & I'm positive there will be other offers by the time I do need to replace the ones I've got .... so I managed to resist :T
Just dug a bit of salmon out for dinner:) yum! (I usually get that at Al*di as it's really nice and not too expensive - even better they sell them in individual packs - but didn't have any when I was there the other day ... probably just as well!:))Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

mmmm I love ice cream!:D
Slowly funnily enough Salmon's not something I usually eat but it was one of the (few) things on my list when I came out of hospital and, have to say, I'm really enjoying it so think it will be something I try to keep up.
It's a bit on the expensive side to have too often but even if I can have maybe once / week to 10 days.
I'm a bit worried it's not going to defrost in time but sure it'll be OK:eek:Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
