    A quick teckie q if i may?Why does the mcafee ive installed load up and dial at the same time as my isp only on my user id its so annoying!How do i get it off?!thanks in advance

    Start/settings/control panel/system it will tell you what SP u have on the General tab.

    NPF will, by default, turn off Windows firewall, simply because it is much more powerful.

    The problem you are referring to could lie in the configuration of NPF. There are 2 check boxes - one is automatic program control and the other is designed to notify you if a program calls on another to access the Internet. Make sure that both these boxes are unchecked.

    Its a matter of going through the diagostics one by one.. try the above and get back to me if it doesnt wrk.
