Bought my first car :j
Got to find insurance
So far Admiral have been by far the cheapest. Had some crazy quotes of over £2000 but Admiral are around the £1000 mark.
Anyone got any advice? I need fully comprehensive and although I don't have any no claims bonus I can prove I was a named driver on another policy for the past 2 years with no claims.

Hi,
depending on your car make, model, age and engine size I think most initial insurance policies will be around the £1000 mark. I used Tesco for mine which seemed to be the cheapest at the time. Have you considered going through quidco to earn cashback?
I'm currently with direct line because they offer a discount for two policies in the same house.
confused.com will offer loads of insurance quotes but some of the companies they suggest i've never heard of so i'm not sure how good they would be if you ever needed to make a claim0 -
I have always found churchill offer me the best quote by far!finally debt free and want to keep it that way!!0

also try www.ecarinsurance.co.uk they are competitive for young persons.0

Hi, I would recommend Diamond if you are female, they always manage to beat any quote I've had elsewhere and nice to deal with. Regards from jandy0

use one of the search engines that compares alot of the ensurers, there is one on autotrader and obviously confused.com. After that check to see if quidco gives cashback on any of them (up to £100 with some companies) and if they do go through them (clear your cookies first).0

the first time I insured my car my cheapest quotes were from Norwich Union, Tesco and ASDA. My first renewal was cheapest with prudential but again tesco weren't far off.
As suggested above, look to see if any cashback is offered on quidco e.g. prudential offer £100 cashback which made it the most competitive for me this year0 -
If it helps I had my first policy through Direct line, and they counted me not crashing ex-OH's car for three years as no-claims (I was just a named driver and he was with them). So it may be worth finding out which company the car you used to drive was insured with, phoning them up and asking if they will count it as no-claims, and then grovel! It's worth phoning them up and seeing what they can do for you, there is often leyway if you are prepared to ask for it. Aqueoushumour has a good point about Quidco too, you may be able to claw some extra back that way. Good luck, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0
