Does it have to be central London? Some of the hotels on the outskirts are great and close to tube stations. Travelodge London City Airport has 15 pound rooms for example and there is a great hostel in Hammersmith called Globetrotters Inn.

    Hi
No it does,nt have to be central, we are going to a theatre in the west end but we dont mind if its furthur away because we can always get on the tube.

Try the travelodge then or the globetrotters inn. Both basic but cheap!

Kings Cross Travelodge would do the job if you are on a tight budget but I recently stayed at the Hoxton Hotel http://www.hoxtonhotels.com/ and it was only a 15 minute if that journey back from the West End (Wicked which was fantastic BTW)

I would only stay there ( the travelodge i mean) if money is really tight - I guess the travel lodge itself will be much the same as any other but the area is horrible - I honestly wouldn't feel "safe" walking around at night.xx

I 2nd the Hoxton, having stayed in a few hotels in London, nice and cheap was an oxymoron until this hotel.
There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.
  • Ooh what you going to see? We've booked the Rose Court (http://www.rosecourthotel.com/) but have no idea what it's like... reviews weren't too bad... just somewhere to crash after we See Lord of the Rings :D It's cheaper if you book through travelstay too.

I 3rd the Hoxton. Also if your going to watch a show look out for the early bird specials which offer top price tickets at £20 to the first so many customers (Usually 10-20 customers) or the lastminute.com meal and a show for £20 deal.

There is an offer for an oyster card on various freebie forums aswell, this will make a saving on the london tube also, failing that get a £5.10 travel card and use it as much as you like to travel all day.

Hi, we are going to watch the sound of music in august in London. We are staying for 3 nights at Jury's inn, Croydon. My mum has stayed there before and she thoroughly recommended it. We have paid £300 (inc full english breakfast) for 3 nights for 4 adults and 1 child. I think we have got a bargain for a decent hotel. Worth a try. :T

Alison 74- Thanks for good hotel suggestion. Lots of good reviews on Hoxton hotel. I am going to book 4 nights in September.
Questions: Is the hotel easy access to the attractions? How easy get to the hotel from Heathrow airport? Thanks
