I usually use http://www.goodprint.co.uk/ for my printing services. Quick and good quality

This time, I made the mistake of ordering from Vistaprint as they were cheaper. They took the money 28.11 and despatch promised 19.12. Not very happy. I hope the quality is satisfactory :(

The cheapest postage method does say up to 21 days. If you needed it sooner you should have paid for a faster service.

Mine usually arrive within a week or two though

Vistaprint is pretty good for quality, price and they often deliver much sooner than the 21 day service suggests.

However, they are based in Belgium, so will never be as quick as someone UK-based.

I have two complaints about them, though - 1. the ludicrous amount of spam they send, and 2. the randomness of some of their prices.
  • I bought a calendar, Xmas present so toyed with the idea of upgrading to faster postage. Glad I didn't pay the extra as it arrived within10 days or so at most. Quality was what I would expect, perfectly acceptable.

Thanks to all for your comments.

In my experience, many online sellers quote a long delivery, but in practice goods arrive much sooner. To be pedantic their delivery promise is 22 days from receipt of my order.

I accept they are not in breach of their T&Cs regarding delivery but (in my opinion) it is sharp practice to take payment before they despatch the goods.

I shall not be using Vistaprint again.

I think they quote 22 days/whatever to allow them to batch work up as they will do a run of calendars, then business cards, then whatever on the digital presses. If you're in the 22 day queue you will be used to fill gaps in the print runs for the 14 day guys, who in turn get to fill gaps in the 7-day etc. I've never had to wait anything like 22 days for Vistaprint though, always got lucky I guess, always much faster.

Aren't their products bespoke to your individual requirements?

Surely they need to know that they have the payment before they take time and resources producing the goods, otherwise you could withdraw the promise of funds, cancel the order, etc., leaving them with stock that they cannot sell...?
