Mobile Phone contract been refused
I have been refused a mobile phone contract from car phone warehouse because Equifax has declined my request.
I dont really understand why since I have never been in debt, have nothing on my credit card and always been careful with money.
The problem I can think of is that 18 months ago, I changed my bank address to my student flat so i would receive my bank statements. Back then, when i first tried to get a contract I was refused on Orange but managed to get it on o2.
It seems this could be the problem, but £16.95 for a credit report seems an awful lot and unfair!! Has anyone got any tips as I really want to go with Orange but they must be more strict than 02.
Thanks in advance
Adrian

You can obtain your credit reports for FREE on a 30 trial basis from bothe Experian and Equifax. Just have to remeber to cancel before the 30 days is up, otherwise you'll get charged.0

Virgin somehow mixed up my date of birth and I was rejected on Saturday.
Requested an Equifax report which is clean and not worth very much given the limited detail on it.
Rang up Virgin and got them to check all details and the error was spotted...
Maybe it is worth checking all your details again...
Cheers
