Well, not TT directly, but agents acting on their behalf. Haven't TT already had their knuckles rapped about this? This would inimate that they have.
When will they learn?

They tried to do that to me just under two years ago.
They told me I they enabled fibre in our area (it was news to me, and I keep up with information*). They then did a line test with the phone number and said would be able to get upto 8mb broadband (funny fibre broadband, also as I was getting about 13mb with my ISP at the time), and then the final nail in the coffin was that they told me that TalkTalk where taking over my ISP Plusnet (it was news to me, and later confirmed as a lie).
Due to that I wouldn't touch them with a 100ft barge pole.
*I was later confirmed in September of the same year, only about 9 months out talkttalk.0 -
Had a couple of clowns around last night from TT. ID badges hidden in their coats and only displayed when I asked who they were from. After the usual inane introductory spiel, they started by asking if I had been made aware aware of the upgrade to the exchange, when I asked them if they meant FTTC they said no, ADSL2. When I pointed out this had been available for a number of years, they said, ah, but you should get broadband free, nobody pays for broadband, only line rental. Regardless of who your ISP was, broadband was always free, except for fibre. When I said they were talking complete nonsense, they left. Which was a good thing.0

Actually many people pay separately for line rental and broadband - I do. (Although both are with the same company, they are separate invoice line items).
With TT, broadband is not actually "free", it's just rolled up into your total package price (line rental and calls package).
Example:
TT invoice: Landline Rental + Calls Package
My Invoice: Landline/Calls Package + Broadband
Amounts to the same thing really. You really think an Evening & Weekends calls package is £6.50 (or whatever) per month? I'm paying £13.99 per month for landline rental plus Anytime calls package, which is less then TT's current landline rental cost.0
