    Fingers crossed for you today.

Had a smile at the reminder for food for birds as DH went to B and* yesterday and came back with about 20kg of bird food (bogof) and a bird feeding station!! He did look a bit embarrassed at how much he had bought but I pointed out how much he enjoyed watching the birds coming to the garden and that we could be in for a hard winter so it was a good idea.

Need to get a move on and make breakfast then take dd for daily injection then pop down to weekly market for a few bits.

No idea what to cook tonight , maybe chicken and veg pasta or a fish pie. Am trying not to always cook the same things and just play about with a few new ideas. The sweet potato burgers were a success and everyone wolfed down the veg and potato cakes the other day.

Hugs to all especially Molly and LameWolf.

    Morning everyone,

Very brief today as I have nothing os to report. In work all day and then going to mums tomorrow to take her shopping.

Bad frost here this morning but no snow, looks like we may miss it this time.

dd3 has to decorate a cake today in food tech at school, going to be a bit hard though as the fondant icing seemed to be frozen, my kitchen was that cold last night. It may have to go in the microwave to make it pliable for rolling. She is hoping to make a volkswagon camper van from the 60's :D. This is from someone who in her last food tech made a cheesecake in a roses tin!!!! I gave her the tin to bring the cake home in not to make it in. As you can imagine it was a very thin cheesecake :rotfl:. I did wonder why the teacher didn't loan her a tin to use though.

Anyway, going to search for something out the freezer for tea. Had enough soup this week. I quite fancy hm chips in the deep fryer and battered fish with mushy peas and tons of bread and butter for butties, yum yum. I don't think my hips fancy it though never mind, I'm in charge :rotfl:

Have a good day all and weekend, will be back on Mon.

  • Good morning everyone :)

Another freezing morning and am told the snow is heading our way. I hope I make it home before it starts.

Managed to get a load of laundry done and dried last night but had to use the tumble drier to do it, we just don't have any accessible radiators to use. I am thinking of buying an airer this weekend and putting it in a spare bedroom.

It's freezer lucky dip for dinner, no idea what I got out but I hope it's meat and not a bit of left over pastry! HM soup for lunch. I need to work on clearing the freeezer but just keep topping it up with bargain buys bulk cooking. Resolution is to eat out of the freezer every night for the next week to make some space for Christmas food.

Another decluttering whizz around scheduled for tonight, the Christmas tree and decorations need to be accessible by Sunday so priority is clearing a path to those!

Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep warm and safe.

    Have a super day :)

    Must get back to work

    Hi all

I'm typing this from flat on my back on the sofa - on my own for those of you with your minds in the gutter!:rotfl:

Did way too much yesterday; after I logged off here we visited Bletchley Park (we have a year-long ticket, and Mr LW finds it so fascinating, and of course it's local); that was tiring - there's so much to try and take in. We shall visit again before the ticket expires (April), probably several times!

Then we had a meal out; eating tires me, and eating a three-course meal tires me a lot but Mr LW thoroughly enjoyed it, so that was great.

He's concerned because I'm totally unable to do anything today; I've reminded him it's par for the course with my condition, and we'll just run with it and it'll be OK.:o

Bit of news on the doggy front; Sammy Westie won't be coming now:( - his Mum's been in hospital, and has decided not to go away over Xmas, she's OK, but playing safe. But we have another booking - Daisy, a Shiba Inu X Corgi, so we'll still have company.:o And my mate Jessie (Black Lab) is coming for the weekend starting on 14th.:T Mr LW has to work 12 hour shifts starting Sunday 16th, as they have a big move going on (hence we still don't know if he'll get Yule off:mad:) so having Jessie that Sunday will be wonderful, as she's great fun to be with.

I don't have a scooby what's for dins tonight - pasta in cheese sauce on the meal plan, but there's no way I can prep it the way my paws are at present.:( We shall have to wait and see.;) Maybe Mr LW will help; or if he's still full from last night (as I currently am) we can have soup'n'a sandwich.;)

Oh, and Hester I'm happy to say the furniture is all still intact!;):rotfl:
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    Morning everyone

Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

DH up and off to work stupid early.

Late post from me today as I had an early appointment at the dentist, can now feel my face again as numbness has worn off, so dropped the boys to school and college respectively en route. DS2 has an after school detention until 4pm tonight and I don't want him cycling home as it's nearly dark at that time and he would be on his own. Have spoken to the school as he didn't know why he was in detention - gave the Receptionist at bit of a hard time tbh but he does have special needs, it's not something that can be cured, he was born with a condition called congenital nystagmus - whilst he doesn't have a turn or squint in his eyes or poor vision he has a flicker, this is most common in mentally and physically handicapped people, so he was tested for everything you can imagine as a baby but the professionals decided that he isn't either of those but said "it's just one of those things", although 1 doctor did say it could have been caused by him having a tiny bleed to the brain whilst I was pregnant with him. When you think of what a stroke does to someone and how they are affected afterwards, you can see how this may well be the case with my son - it took us ages to get him reading, writing, riding a bike, his balance is not brilliant, his concentration span is not great, academically he struggles terribly. I don't want to use his conditon as an excuse and it's certainly not an excuse for bad/poor behaviour but they do need to be mindfull of his capabilities and support him in the correct way. Sorry that's turned into a bit of a rant but this is all in his school records and has been since he started school at 4 years old and I have spoken to some of his teachers and they didn't know any of this! One did have the decency to admit that she hadn't read his records and she did apologise for that - told her in no uncertain terms what I thought! The Receptionist said she was going to speak to his Head of House and other people and they will get back to me - won't hold my breath!

Have managed to get some housework done and done 3 x loads of washing, 1 more to go.

Have a great day everyone, stay safe and well x
