BT Vision 2.0 Upgrade

Options
Hi,

I've just been upgraded to BT Vision 2.0 and I've had it now for a week, so I thought I'd share my experiences with fellow BT users on here.

Black 160GB box, on BT Broadband.

So, as I'm a regular reader of the BT Vision Community forum, I've been dreading this update (due to V2.0 horror stories), and now I've got it. So -

The update went flawlessly and I was up and running in ten minutes. The picture quality is excellent (as it was before). The menu's are clear and readable, loving the many new features (such as Bookmarks and Playlists) and theres a lot more content on there that is in HD. And for free, too (well, included in the Unlimited sub, at no extra cost, is what I mean).

Now the Menu's - a backward step, ATM, as previously if accessing say, on demand content, on the remote, I could go press press press, and the menu would go flick flick flick, and catch up. But this one won't. It's - delicate. You have to go press, pause (and wait for the screen to change), press, pause, press, pause. And if you don't, the screen will just hang for approx 60 secs, and then change. Then you get there.

This is a minor inconvenience that I can put up for now, with until a future firmware upgrade makes this more stable.

Oh, and the box hasn't locked up or crashed once in the one week I have had it. And all the sports channels work too.

And I got upgraded to Unlimited Infinity 2 today. 57Mbps as opposed to 6.5, and all for the same for the same price as I was paying for BT Unlimited BB, with no extension of contract either - just £13.25 a month.

So live Linear IPTV channels here we come.

So, all in all, I'm a very happy bunny! lol

Well, ten days in and my box locked up, which required a power cord out and then in reboot.

And then today, whilst watching the football, I pressed pause, and the box instantly flicked back one hour. !!!!!!!?! So I can no longer pause live TV? So it no longer does what it says on the tin? A service which isn't fit for purpose, perhaps?

This is a major design flaw. Poor.
