Leaving VM...where do i stand.

Options
Hey guys,

Been wanting to leave Virgin media for quite a while due to their very poor customer support,Their prices (which are going up again soon) and their really bad equipment (Superhub)

Now where do i stand, because ive got the feeling they will say i can leave but will have to keep on paying until my contract is up...now the thing is,I don't think ive actually sighned anything with VM in regards to a contract!

Ive had this connection since the Telewest days,.then of course VM took over telewest and it all went downhill from there.

I have the internet connection only with them, and pay by Direct Debit.

thanks!

You don't have to sign anything to be in a contract. You have used the service and paid them, therefore a contract clearly exists.
It depends if you have changed anything in your tariff/bundle in the last 12m or so, if so you may well be on a new 12m minimum term.
Bear in mind that with a cable service, you have nowhere else to go without having a BT-based landline installed or reconnected for ADSL broadband-there are no other cable providers.

Apparently you can leave because of the price rise any time you like without penalty , it's in the T&C's!

Only if you reject the increase within the required timescale.

If you're not happy with the wireless performance of the superhub you can set it into modem mode and use your own router. It's exactly what I have done, using my D-Link 615 router flashed with DD-WRT firmware; excellent performance.
