LPG Gas Cylinder Help

Hello, I've recently moved into a house which runs on two 47kg LPG cylinders, they are on a automatic changeover regulator, unfortunately I was given no advice on how to operate this system and now need a little advice.

I belive that the indicator turns from black to red when one of the cylinders is empy - this happened a couple of days ago however the indicator is only half red and half black - am I meant to wait for it to change completely to red before ordering a new cylinder? I don't want to order one if there is still a little gas left as its a costly business!

As you are probably aware the delights of LPG is all new to me!

Thanks
