Regardless, the situation remains that you still owe a considerable sum and this debt isn't going to simply disappear because you say the dealer allegedly told you that returning the car would satisfy the debt.
In future, get any such undertakings in writing before proceeding..Impeciousman wrote: »I took them to court at which point they denied ever saying such and I was responsible for the debt.0 -
I was under the impression this was a forum to warn people of future mistakes.
I am letting everyone know Mallard Finance lie to their customers.
What wrong with that?
At no point did I claim anything other that stupidity on my part and Mallard Finance are liars.
It makes we question who controls these threads if speaking to truth can stir such responses.
I feel like I'm being attacked for speaking about my experience.0 -
Basically you guys come in here and tell people not to complain about their experience if they feel mistreated or lied To?!

Someone from Malard Finance ([Name removed]) advised me to returning the car will satisfy the debt. So found this to be a lie.
it may not have been a lie if they were referring to VT.
However, you did not proceed with VT. You gave the car back to the dealer and the dealer sold it.The letter I just cut and paste shows you I spoke to Somone who advised me to return the car.
You returned the car to the dealer.
The dealer and the finance company are two different entities. One would not know what you are doing with the other. If this is law is it not against the law for the finance company to ask me to return the car.
But you didnt return the car to the finance company. You sold it via the dealer.I am quite concerned with your advise. You seem bent on disproving my experience despite the evidence I have presented.
advice is not spelt with an s in it.
We are not disproving your experience. We are trying to show you what you did wrong. Explaining your mistakes may help others from doing the same thing.I did not have anything to do with the dealer after buying the car.
So, where did the car go? The copy and paste you did says "Our clients have re-sold the motor vehicle". The sale of the car via the finance company using VT is irrelevant to you. It has no impact on what you owe. The wording "our clients" suggests that a third party sold the car. That suggested the dealer but could be another third party. Under VT, the finance company pick up the car and what they do with it after that has no impact on the amount you are due to pay.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
But you're missing my POINT!
You keep saying I gave the car to a dealer.
MY FRUSTRATION IS
1. I got called by Mallard Finance and advised to give the car back and it will satisfy the debt.
VT is Voluntary Termination. I did not volunteer I was told if I gave the car back it will satisfy the debt. This if I'm not stupid is a verbal agreement. To deny such agreement existed in a court of law is SLANDAROUS and such company should not be in Finance.
For all the claim of being liable I have evidence of my experience.
The point of all this is to let people know things like this exist and can DESTROY your future.0 -

This is my POINT.!
1. Why did Mallard Fianance call me to return the car and satisfy the debt if they knew that was not the case.
I feel I've been defrauded!
Honestly this happened almost 10 years ago and I am still Gary about it.
If they gave fraudulent advice to make money off me they should be held to account.
At least if a person is thinking about going into business with them, they should be aware what could happen.
That is the point of this.0 -
