Help, nobody seems to want to supply my gas & electricity, or take my money for it.

Is it a rental, new build or are you an owner occupier? That gum you like is coming back in style.0

You've done this the wrong way around. When you move in, you are in a deemed contract with the existing supplier (find out how to find them with a Google search). You can't switch to BG (or anyone else) until you first register with the existing supplier. Once you've done that, you can then commence a switch, which will take 4-5 weeks. Any attempt to sign up with another supplier before that registration process is carried out will result in a failed switch.
Even if it's a new build, you should still have an existing supplier, as the power will have been on in the property during the fitting out.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
If you are in a new build, you will be with the same supplier as your neighbours0

Any chance that it is the "showhome" on the estate, the one the agents used to show people around?

Did you take readings when you moved in?
Call the number on this page and speak to someone? Have your readings ready. http://www.britishgas.co.uk/HelpAndAdvice/LookUp/?SXI=19,CASE=5086If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -
You need to phone BG, not email them.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Borrow a phone that does 08, borrow a landline? Use a call box?
You must have an electricity meter if you have a supply. Do you mean that you have a PPM rather than a credit meter. In which case you need to call them to get your own key or card-don't use the one that was already in the property. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
everyones got an electric meter, even if its a prepay you need a new key in your name, the reading for this will be on screen "G" total kwhrs, press blue button five times0

I can't phone them. Is there any other way?
I took a reading from the gas meter a short time after I moved in, but I don't have an electricity meter so I have no way to take a reading for that.
Sorry, but you are posting from a phone, so why can't you call them?If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -
