Hi all, i have just applied for a vanquis black diamond card online. Had a call from vanquis who (after taking bank details for the dd) stated i had been accepted and my card would be with me in the next 14 days. I have not disclosed to them that i am currently bankrupt, albeit going thro the early discharge stage as we speak. Will they check up in more detail even though they said ive been accepted?

What the hell is a Vanquis Black Diamond Card???0

Bad credit/massive apr card from vanquis. Apr makes no difference tho as paying off in full each and every month0

It's a re-branded Vanquis card, similar to Granite.
Representative APR is higher than a bog-standard Vanquis card at 59.9% v 39.9%, but it doesn't come with an embarrassing Vanquis logo stamped on it: https://www.blackdiamondcreditcards.co.uk/. :rotfl:0 -
Just using it to rebuild my credit along side my cashplus credit building account. They stated on the phone earlier that i have been granted a £500 credit limit as well. Still very confussed at their decision as due to a past business failure i went bankrupt for 225k in total0

Just had a confirmation email stating my card will be here in about 10 days and pin 5 days after. Anyone any idea how ive been passed for a £500 credit card while still officially bankrupt?0

Isn't it against the terms of your bankruptcy to obtain credit before the date of your discharge??0

Yes it is, just been granted early discharge tho so will all be completed in 2 weeks. One could say ive jumped the gun a little lol. Question is why they havnt checked me out properly0

Did it ask you on the application form if you are or have been bankrupt in the past couple of years?0

Sounds like you dont have to do the credit file clean up
Happy days!

I know Justin, only bit of luck ive had in ages lol. All the criteria question said was" are you currently due to commence with a bankruptcy claim" (or similar wording). Not once was my past history questioned0
