existing sky customer needing a new box

I have been a sky customer for over 15 years and pay around 100 pounds for services every month. However my first generation sky hd box is freezing regularly and needs reseting by unplugging and rebooting.
Does anyone know of a way I can obtain a new box from sky without incurring the horrendous cost of buying one from them?

As long as you're out of contract, just say that you want to cancel as you can't afford a call out. Once you get through to retentions, a free call out will materialise like magic, especially given your huge annual spend. Don't waste time on the first tier CS, they don't have the same authority. You will only get a refurbed box though.
Otherwise try ebay.
The number of years you have been a customer is not relevant, the box has a one year warranty and is your property from day one, it's not leased by Sky.
