Electronic cigs- please settle an argument

I had someone 'smoking' a vapour cig on my flight the other day and we asked them not to as other people might think they are actually smoking.
Maybe she should use one of the plastic ones that don't vape to keep it a bit more discreet on the flight.0 -
I flew Qatar airways recently and they had a note on the safety announcement to say they were not allowed.
I am a smoker, If I must I take a nicotine lozenge to suck on.House saving Targets:

I'm far from snobby but people should set examples xx
Why should they? Your kids are your responsibility, not mine, or anyone else's. If you don't want your kids to see real life and real people I suggest you invest in a few hundred pounds of cotton wool to wrap them up in."There may be a legal obligation to obey, but there will be no moral obligation to obey. When it comes to history, it will be the people who broke the law for freedom that will be remembered and honoured." --Rt. Hon. Tony Benn0 -

But you can't use them whilst in your seat.
Steph xx
I'd be pretty annoyed if I needed the loo but couldn't get in there because the cabin crew were directing people to the toilets to use their e-cigs.0 -

What a terrible reflection on todays society that comment is.
Yes the children are the parents responsibility to raise but its also the responsibility of all society to set a good example to children.
Sadly this opinion isnt shared by everyone, hence the number if 2 year olds who think its normal to use the F word.
My brother and his wife never swear in front of thier kids but thanks to someone else who has the 'your responsibility- not mine' attitude their 3 year old copied it from a passenger on a bus. This was a woman talking on her mobile phone who used the word 8 times during a 30 second phone call.0 -

Can i please suggest that before you post incorrect and untrue comments on a forum you first educate yourself to the facts first.
i am a vaper. My favourite juice is vanilla custard. i used to smoke 30 cigarettes a day. A few days after stopping smoking and turning to vaping, ironically, i ended up in hospital with lung problems. At first i was worried that the vaping had caused it, but no, it turned out i had COPD caused by the smoking. When the heart and lung specialist came to see me on the ward i asked him about my vaping. Not only did he encourage me to do it, he also said i could do it on the ward alongside other patients!!! After 3mths vaping and not having a single cigarette since, my lungs have felt the healthiest i have known since my teens.
For those that don't know, the toxins and poisons in cigarettes come from the nearly 4,000 by products put into cigarettes NOT the nicotine itself.
Have any of you been to nightclubs, theatres and other forms of entertainment where fake smoke vapour is used? No one seems to object to this stuff yet vaping uses virtually the same stuff. When a vaper exhales, it is water vapour coming out and the lovely food smells are produced by food flavourings that can be bought in every supermarket in the country!!
You had a pop at completely the wrong person there!! It's Wiggles that's being way OTT.
My DH 'vaps'. It definitely has an odour to it but much nicer than cigarettes. Coming back from Turkey in September he obviously had to take everything out of his pockets to go through the airport scanner and they had no idea what the e-cig was. Actually questioned him over it and were quite bemused by it.0 -

I think Wiggles comment was designed to rub people up the wrong way; and its true. It's her job to set the right example for her kids; people on flights vaping on an e-cig is hardly the crime if the century now is it? She was way OTT with her response and if that's her worst worry for her kids, god help her when they hit teenage years and when they are old enough to drink etc.0 -

Can i suggest you read back. i wasn't having a pop at anyone, just laughing at the post from the person above me because i found it funny, hence the laughing face icon.
My post was aimed as a general plea to those who do not really understand anything about vaping and the true facts about it. Posting incorrect information doesn't do anyone any favours and merely paints vaping as something it isn't ie smoking!0 -
Most airlines will not allow these e-cigs (whichever brand they are). If you're that dependant on nicotine, you could use other nicotine replacement products such as gum, patches, inhalers etc. I'm saying this as a smoker
