I wouldn't bank on it. I rang them and the guy I spoke didn't know anything about it, he just kept offering me their own 6 months for half price offer.

Been cut off once, trying again now but getting very bored!!! On hold while they 'try to find offers available to me' ............
  • Ok just placed the order and had the chat on to the sky guy.
no you dont have to pay for a sky+ HD box it is FREE (I have a Sky+ box dont know about other sky boxes)
all you need to pay for is the delivery of £15 unless you want the engineer to set it up but its easy to do it yourself so I didnt.
just put in your code update you box add the sky+ HD package and review your order and it all should be there if not open the chat window to talk to someone.

    hope this helps

I dont get why people are saying you have to pay for the HD box or boxes

I priced up a package with 2 HD boxes, entertainment plus, sky sports, Fibre broadband and unlimited free calls. The package should be £107.50 but with the half price deal it comes down to £83.75 as the TV package part of the deal is discounted from £47.50 to £23.75.

BUT all the boxes, delivery and installation are free
  • Existing sky customer with white sky+ box.

I was on to sky this morning via chat system for HD and got offered 50% off HD subs for 6 month and a sky 2Tb HD box for £49 (normal HD box free) plus £15 delivery. I chose self set up which removed the £60 installation fee.
They provided me with a link via chat page that automatically created the order for me in mysky account.
I mentioned the 12 month deal via MSE and was told it was not yet live and to wait till it was (4pm was mentioned) so I left the sky account open on the pc then got a code thro mse and applied this using the link provided above (as the link imm below the code application did not work for me). This updated the order on mysky page from 6 m to 12 m half price so I have placed the order and got confirmation.

I've been offered half price HD for 12 months using the code. It includes a free HD box as I'm currently on SD and the cost is either £60 installation fee or £15 delivery if install it myself. Does anyone know if I'll be able to swap my card between my old and new box so I can watch the programmes I still have on my old box (but not to record on it)? Thanks
  • Where is this 6 months half price offer?
  • Managed to get a code, take it over the to Sky website using the MSE link.....

Error message saying "We do not recognise the offer associated with the code you've entered. Please check that you have entered the offer code correctly."

Spoke to customer service, they confirm the codes validity, but cannot help me as it's an online only deal. They told me to use online chat, so I spoke to my man in India and he said to "try again later".

    What a waste of time

Amazing how many newbies have suddenly appeared, who seem to have got the code, and then go on to say what a waste of time etc.

It works as I posted a couple of posts ago so its not a waste of time and it is def live

    Hi

Installing the new box yourself is a doddle, so you might as well save yourself £45. It's just a case of swapping the leads from the old box to the new one.

You won't be able to watch the programmes from your old box on your new box because they are stored on the boxes internal hard drive.

    Hope that helps :)
