Barclays ISA - Compensation & More!

I am following this discussion with bated breath, and all that. I submitted an application plus large cheque for a Barclays cash ISA on 31st March and have heard zilch. I went into the branch to enquire about it last weekend and they gave me the same 0845 number that a previous email enquiry had elicited from them. I am wondering whether it is worth going back into the branch and doing a bit of jumping up and down - but it seems likely that they are just swamped with business and perhaps this won't do any good. What should I do?0

I was given an appointment on 4th April and opened a £3k ISA for the 2006-7 period. My cheque has not yet been cashed and I have heard nothing. Am going to have to chase it up now. :mad:0

I got a letter from Barclays this morning along with the application form I'd completed saying the cheque was missing so they couldn't process it. However, it does say that if I send another cheque in within 5 days of the date on the letter it would still be processed for the 06/07 tax year.
Despite the cheque going missing I'm relieved to have something in writing saying that my application will be treated as being made in 06/07.0
