Why not save your Word file straight to PDF? There's no point in scanning to a JPEG first, you'll just add work and reduce the quality. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Because they are not Word files:-
.Thanks all, I did not want to print them, (I do know how to do that:D), I needed to send 3 forms to an email recipient so they could print them.
I scanned the forms into the computer then filled them in and wanted to send them by email but:-the programme I used to scan them turned them into an fff file and the recipient could not open them and asked for them to be sent by Word or PDF, I tried Word and they came out a mess, I managed to convert to JPG and sent them but did not receive a response, so I have now converted the JPG's to PDF using primopdf as suggested by debitcardmayhem, and sent them that way..
The job is now done and I have the programme installed for any future use.
Also I do not appear to be able to save Word to pdf, although I will be able to now I have a programme installed.
.Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0
