Eon con
I have been with Eon for 5 years, I pay £76 per month on a 2 year fixed before the last rise, they estimate my next years bills will be £81 per month but they want £104 per month, and £20 to move. This is a con, this is the reason I left Npower, I have contacted the Ombudsman (still waiting for a reply). Something should be done about these companies 'ripping off' their customers.

This doesn't seem to add up?
Your old bill was £76/mon and you are being estimated £81....
Assuming you use stayed the same then this is 107% of the last DD which is less than the rise?
£104 is 137% of the last DD's?
Are your old DD's less than actual use?
What is the calculation they used?
In the first instance I would ask them how they calculated the £104 and £81.....
In theory the ombudsman might be there to protect you but you have to jump through the right hoops on the way. (And even then no guarantee)0 -

Hi dhep,
I just want to be clear here, if you are on a fixed price tariff then your unit prices are fixed but your payments won't be. They can go up or down if your usage changes.
It sounds like you may have a balance on the account and we have calculated that your usage is £81 per month, but you need to pay £104 per month to cover the usage and pay off the balance over the next few months.
If you are on a contracted tariff, then you would be charged the cancellation fee if you decided to leave E.ON before the end date.
I may have got the wrong end of the stick here and if so I'm sorry, if you wanted to post a bit more detail I will be able to help further, or pop an email to the address in my profile page and I'll have a look at your account for you.

These figures are Eon's they estimate how much gas and electricity I will use next year, this works out at £81 per month, but they want £104 per month, why, I am fixed for 2 years, so why the 37% rise, after the last 12 months I am £3 in credit!0

Hi dhep,
Thanks for coming back with a bit more info.
As I say, it's your unit prices that are fixed not your usage or monthly payments, so if your usage goes up then your payments will go up to cover this.
A Direct Debit works by paying a similar amount through the year, this should then build up some credit in the summer and this credit would then cover the larger winter bills.
£3 credit at this time of year is not enough and sounds like it could be the reason the payments have been increased a bit more than your calculated usage (because you're going to use more over the next few months).
Also, just as a side note, is the account billed up to accurate readings?

Yes you read the meter.
As for the payments I still do not see why you want £104 when your own calculations add up to £81 per month, I understand the payments may need to go up and yes I will use more in winter, but I obviously used less in the summer, I have been in credit all summer you did not offer me money back because that is how it is supposed to work, but you want every penny covered in the winter, and you keep any excess in
the summer.0 -

I understand what you're saying.
We would normally offer a refund at the annual review if the account is in credit. Not from the credit built up over the summer months, because as I say this goes towards the larger winter bills.
Have you spoken to us to ask for the calculations and break down of how the payment amount has been worked out?
I would suggest doing this and have some meter readings to hand as well.
