Hello
I've joined this thread a few times but not been great at updating. However, I'm so pleased to report that the last mortgage payment goes out tomorrow!!!!!!!:j:j:j
We are celebrating by having a family meal out. Thanks to everyone on the board past and present. Without MSE we wouldn't be mortgage free as we would never have thought to overpay.
Good luck everyone in your quest.

Woohoo well done Pollys!!!! :T:T:T:T:T:T:T

Hi VoucherMan,
Sorry to be a pest, the OP I sent through Google Docs was meant to be for February, as those are standing orders due to go out tomorrow, and I assumed you wouldn't look at details until tomorrow0 -
First February OP done today and put on googledocs
.
Really motivated by the idea that this year we should reach the half way point on our mortgage. 50% gone by Christmas hopefully!
I remember when we were applying for our original mortgage product Feb 2005 and the mortgage advisor in the bank showed me a graph and table showing 25 years and the payments we would make broken down into interest and repayment. (Plus how much the balance would reduce each year).
I was shocked and appalled that we would be paying over £800 a month and nearly all of it would be going on interest for years . Vowed then to treat the mortgage like any other debt and overpay whenever possible to compensate for the fact that regular payments would barely touch the balance.
Read somewhere this week,
"Is your glass half empty or half full?"
"Who cares- pick up the bottle and top it up"
For the mortgage I'm going to think of glass half empty as a good thing :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.Beautiful boys born May 2011 and October 2013

Polly's that is fantastic, really happy for you and your family, enjoy that well deserved and hard worked for meal
spiggs thanks for the info it is great to see how much we are all paying, i really hope someone comes in with a last minute £2k payment so that we can break that 1 million barrier
i have made my payment for this month so far £200 ( no2 on the spread sheet)
i am hoping that with my Tilly tidies and sugar shuffles i will add to this by the end of the month, in fact i know i will, i just hope its as good as last months or better
good luck for the month everyone, keep up the momentum and soon we could join Polly and the others that have achieved their goals0
