TV with freeview in bedroom

Options
just found this board so re-posting my thread that I wrongly posted elsewhere:

We had a TV in the bedroom and downstairs, the one in the bedroom had a freeview box and the one in the living room had a BT vision box.

Digital switchover happened and the one in the bedroom no longer works.

We are looking at getting sky in Feb, so haven't bothered with the changing of the aerial on the roof to get the bedroom tv working, we've just left it.

Looking at getting DD a tv for her room for xmas, however we have no Ariel in her room, would a small 7in portable tv with built in Ariel and freeview work?
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

Set-top aerials are rarely adequate for digital reception, though you can get lucky sometimes, if you are near the transmitter or relay.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • You don't say if you have wireless BB, if you do and your daughter has a laptop, PC or android phone, try this: http://www.tvcatchup.com/

I used it whilst waiting for my landlord (housing association) to install a new aerial system last year (old system couldn't cope with the digital switchover...)
