where is everyone getting their Christmas turkeys from?
Hi all,
As I will have 11 for Christmas lunch this year  I am shopping around for the best deal on turkey (good price but also good quality). I have asked on the Old-style board and people seem to think that frozen turkeys are fine, so I'm looking at all options, fresh / frozen, whole turkeys / crown (but it does have to be turkey, not goose etc). Our local butchers is excellent, but last year we paid over £40 for one that served 6, so I'm looking for a better deal this year.
So far, the co-op frozen turkeys have been recommended, and I also looked in Costco today (but they seemed quite expensive). Using Tesco double-up vouchers for a frozen turkey is also an option. Anyway, I'm just wondering where other people get theirs from? Thanks for any advice

We're getting ours from a butcher this year. Mainly because i'll be food shopping on the sunday before...its usually a nightmare midweek so I didnt fancy trying to get a reasonably priced turkey so late.0

Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

We got a Tesco 10.4 kg frozen turkey using double-up vouchers. We have 24 for dinner every year. We find frozen turkeys are fine by the time you have everything else on the plate. It all comes down to the gravy in the end!0

Indeed, there is much in what you say...I'm also very much a sprout fan.
I remember one year many years back,we bought a frozen turkey and it had embedded in it,some kind of pop up device, the idea being that when the little red pin in the device popped up,turkey was cooked. It did and it was..perfect. Never seen them since.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). I have farming friends and we have one from them every year. They buy baby ones, (poults I think) in August and then fatten them up for Xmas. They are so lovely and the taste is excellent.:T0

My Mom & Dad are coming for dinner this year and my Mom is getting the turkey.
She has ordered it from M&S.
I just hope it doesn't turn out like this......!
