you need to download the whole program to your PC first

    Create the Setup disks

When you download the Setup disks, the download contains only one large program file. When you run the downloaded file, it extracts the files. You receive the following prompt:

This program creates the Setup boot disks for Microsoft Windows XP.To create these disks, you need to provide 6 blank, formatted, high-density disks.

Please specify the floppy drive to copy the images to:
Type the drive letter for the floppy disk drive (this is typically drive A). After you type the floppy disk drive letter, you receive the following prompt:
Insert one of these disks into drive drive letter:. This disk will become the Windows XP Setup Boot Disk.

Press any key when you are ready.
When you press a key, the downloaded file starts to extract and copy the files. Continue to insert the blank disks as you are prompted to do so until all six disks are created. If the process is interrupted, you must run the downloaded program file again to create all six disks.

never used theses myself but assume its the same as the CD

when it starts you put the first disk in and change BIOS to boot from floppy first

then you should be able to run chkdsk (might need to change disk)

As you can get into Windows (although you have to go via Safe Mode first), you can change a registry setting so that Recovery Console no longer asks for your administrator password when it loads.

    1. Click on the Start button.
    2. Click on the Run option
    3. Type regedit.exe in the open field and press the OK button.
    4. Navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Setup\RecoveryConsole
    5. Change the value of SecurityLevel value to 1
    6. Close regedit
    7. Reboot your computer (With the floppies inserted)

Note that once you have gone through the pain of getting into Windows, if you have a C:\Windows\i386 folder, you can almost certainly install recovery console from that folder - this will just appear as a startup option, and will be much quicker than having to install it via the 6 floppies. try a simple Restore point if you can

go into safe mode and then control panel, Accessories then System Restore, then go back to when it last worked, if that does not work then try the above

also , while in safe mode try Start, then Run, then Chkdsk /f
