Follow as follows:
1. Get your XP CD
2. Enter BIOS and set the "boot device priority" option to reflect CD-ROM as the first boot device
3. Once in the XP CD main menu select "R" for repair with Recovery Console.
4. Once in console (black screen waiting for you to type)
5. Type "FIXMBR" and hit enter
6. Once the above finishes it will allow you to type something else
7. Type "FIXBOOT" and enter
8. Take the CD out.
9. Restart the PC and see how that goes.0 -

lol
you need to boot with the XP CDTo start the computer and use the Recovery ConsoleFrom the Setup CD-ROM
Insert the Setup compact disc (CD) and restart the computer. If prompted, select any options required to boot from the CD.
When the text-based part of Setup begins, follow the prompts; choose the repair or recover option by pressing R. If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot system, choose the installation that you need to access from the Recovery Console. When prompted, type the Administrator password (which is blank by default)
from the c:\ prompt type chkdsk /f
It may take some time.Ex forum ambassador

it's not sounding good for that hard disk ten if you are getting problems so soon after a default recovery
ANY Xp CD will do, if you can borrow one...
