Afternoon all, better late than never.:o
Lamewolf, please accept a hug from me. We need you and so do the wolves. Please dont give up on us or the wolves.
I didnt have time to do anything yesterday. My friend came round about midday and stopped with me till gone 5pm. It was lovely to see her but it was such a long day. Hubby commented after she had gone about how much time she spent living in the past. Recollecting old memories that she/we shared. People we knew and things we did. Then i explained to him what had happened to her since she grew up and he understood her draw to the past.
Firstly she found her husband dead after he suffered an epileptic fit alone. She was left a widow with two children under 4. Then she married a man 20+ years ago and seperated from him 4 years ago when they were evicted from their home. He hadnt been paying the rent and was spending it on alcohol instead. They are still the very best of friends all considering but they are still very much seperated. She lives in her own place with her grown up children (three of them anyway) and he lives in his own flat. Her two youngest children have been self harming for a couple of years now (the youngest has tried to commit suicide twice).
She has had an awful life to be fair and i'm not suprised she lives in the past.
We didnt go shopping last night, was mentally exhausted if i am honest so we had to do our Saturday jobs today. Ive got lots to do before i go to bed tonight but i thought i'd have a few minutes before i start again.
Good news. My youngest daughter is pregnant! I know they have been trying for a baby for months and ive been helping her with advice with her fertility but it still came as a shock. I am delighted naturally. She's only told immediate family up to now but i'm sure none of you will tell.;)
I wanted to buy her something for the baby whilst we were shopping but i thought it wise not to. Its too soon.

Congrats to your DD Judi, lovely news.
LW - You have so much to cope with I want to come down there and shake the medical staff for you. No-one on here will ever moan about your posts, you keep posting and we'll keep supporting the best we can.
Dinner decluttered - stuffed turkey breast with mash, carrots, brocolli and cabbage, just waiting for a lemon drizzle cake to emerge from the oven for afters. Never made one before but had lemons to use up.
Soooo cold here but no snow yet, I have put my snow chains and shovel in the car in case we do get any. Must get into the habit of taking a flask too.
Christmas decs are down from the loft, I don't think i have ever had them down this early, not going to put them up yet but DD is off today and I can't manage to get stuff down myself. will give me a chance to sort it out anyway.
 Take care. XX0

....I'm asking DH to get me some heated gloves for Christmas to see if they help. Reynauds is no fun in winter:( it spoils every outing as all I can think about is the pain and numbness in my fingers. I had 2 pairs of gloves on last night - one special ones with silver in them and a leather pair. Made no difference.....
Tappers, have you tried wearing a pair of silk liners inside your other gloves? I often wear them when we're walking or skiing. Also, I know its a faff but have you tried wearing ski mittens? The theory is that because your fingers are all together, they stay warmer, whereas in gloves the fingers are all separate & surrounded by outside air. I always wear mittens when skiing (mine have a little rubber blade for wiping my goggles & a fleecy patch to wipe my nose on ) 0 ) 0

thanks Floss:), I've tried almost everything. I bought some mittens at nearly £40 a pair, special gloves from the Reynauds society and every other sort of glove going but nothing helps. The heated gloves are my last resort I think. I like the sound of your skiing mittens! lol:DDo what you love :happyhear0

Taplady - If you have mittens you could put one of the handwarmers inside, the sort that you snap the disc and it heats up. If you put them in boiling water when they go solid you can re-use them. You have probably already tried but it was just a thought.0

The rheumy has just kicked me off her books (after 3 years of trying to get rid of me) because she says nothing untoward has shown up in the blood tests and she has nothing further to offer me. When I asked her why, then, I was in so much pain, she just shrugged and said "I dunno" and dismissed me.:( So no help there - plus I'm terrified of the woman!
Currently waiting for GP referral to the pain clinic, which won't be until into the New Year.
Thank the gods for Mr LW - he comes to every appt with me:A; to be honest, I have no fight left in me now.
Bless him, he's helped me make a quiche and a blackberry'n'apple crumble this morning - we're going to eat in a couple of mins, he's doing some chips to go with the quiche. (I didn't eat at all yesterday, too tired to bother).
Hopefully be back later, or at least tomorrow.;)
And thank the gods for the MSE OS Boards!:T:T:T You lot are the best!:A
Grrrrr how can a rheumatologist not think that a Lupus sufferer needs to be under the care of a consultant, that is just appalling
Have you checked out the right to choose your own hospital and consultant?
 http://www.nhs.uk/choiceintheNHS/Rightsandpledges/NHSConstitution/Pages/Yourrightstochoice.aspx
I wondered if you are a member of any Lupus online group and/or forum and you could ask for advice/recommendations on a hospital and consultant in your area?
Mr LW sounds like a wonderful man. My DH looks after me so well when I come out of hospital, I am not a good patient and he must really be an :A to put up with me!LBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin
