Morning all, beautiful sunny day here but with a thick frost... very pretty. Dog walked and he is back to normal so can stop worrying until the next time. Off to Cardiff today as DD is meeting a Uni friend and DH wants new jeans. We also have to buy a new shower. Ours stopped last week and is now operating at a dribble. One of the elements has gone and will cost £98 to replace. As new showers start at about £60 we might as well replace it.
Need to tidy round when we get back. Chicken tikka and salad for tea. We're not doing any roasts until Christmas Day so we will enjoy it all the more. Hugs to all in need and LW keep posting please.
Thanks for the carol Tru , hope you feel better soon. Bitsy sorry you had such a bad first viewing, why don't EAs do the work. Whenever we've sold a house I swear it's because I did the selling. Hope it sells soon. Have a good day all.:) sistercas glad you had a good day in London.

    Morning All

Had a lie in this morning - very unusual. I had been awake for a while during the night but nice to be able to drift off again.

Brrr it's cold, white frost everywhere and the sun is out but the sky isn't as clear as yesterday so we may be in for some snow. Put the bedding on the line yesterday and it all but dried in a couple of hours.

Went to Glasgow yesterday and got the last of the pressies along with some buttons for the little slippers I have knitted everyone (how expensive are they?). DD and I went for something to eat and had a thoroughly relaxing time and it was her treat!

Not doing much today, friend coming with some logs later but apart from that having a relaxing day.

    Take care. XX

    Morning all,

Quick one from me, its OH's Birthday today, and we have done presents etc, so running late.

We had a lovely meal out yesterday to celebrate dd's Birthday, ans it was also my BIL birthday, its all go at this time of year ! I had a prawn and smoked salmon starter with a hot horseradish dip, and a beautiful steak and all the trimmings. DD's meal was not so good there was only one veggue option, a baked squash tart, but the pastry was too thick and the filling tasteless, they can never seem to get the veggie option right.

Off out to the afternoon boot sale in a while, ribs in a sauce rice and peas for tea.

Lamewolf, you must promise to keep posting, and I will promise to tell you if we are getting fed up :D, have a lick from little dog xx

    Have good days all xx

    Morning all

LW - I enjoy reading your posts, please carry on - hugs.

Fuddle - how's the packing going? Don't want to speak out of turn but it is wise to be reducing your anti-d's considering you're going through a house move so close to Christmas and all it entails? Look after yourself x

Lovely and frosty here - I've been in the garden cutting things back, had lots of helpful paws to distract me. The bird bath had frozen solid and the kittens love drinking out of it so they were standing on it, skidding around trying to lick the ice....bless them.

Christmas decs are all up, just need to pop the boxes back in the loft. WM is on final spin and I'll pop it on the line for a blow through and finish on the airer later. Remains of last nights chilli is warming in the SC for chilli dogs for lunch. roast chicken for dinner tonight and need to make some savoury rice and bacon pasties for lunch boxes.

Off to tackle the ironing, luckily there's not much as my sciatica is just starting to make itself known after the gardening.

    Have good days all

  • Good afternoon everyone :)

This was intended to be another flying post but have just read LameWolf's last few posts and wanted to send hugs and love. I know what it is like to live with a chronic, debilitating and disfiguring illness and I hate it but I have no comprehension of having to live with the pain of Lupus. My background is in pharmacy, though I don't work in a traditional pharmacist role in a shop or hospital. Through my job, I was recently shocked to realise that there was no new drug treatments for Lupus in over 50 years, but Benlysta, a monoclonal antibody treatment, has recently been appoved for use in Lupus in the UK. Is your doctor up to date with drug treatments? Do you attend a hospital rheumatology clinic? Can you push to have your options for treatment fully explored?

Please feel free to tell me it's none of my business but I know how doctors can be. I was misdiagnosed and treated incorrectly for years before I found out my condition and then besides the illness, there were years of mismanagement and further damage to deal with. My GP still has no idea what my illness entails and has never bothered to find out. My consultant is often more interested in showing me off to medical students as my condition is so rare, I tend to only go to him when I can't avoid surgery any longer. I wonder if another consultant had any idea how much his words hurt when he talked over me to his students, telling them how it was often extremely disfiguring and offered to show them examples of my scarring.

My DH sometimes comes to my appointments with me if he is worried I won't fight for being involved in my treatment. I am sure Mr LW does that for you too. I often find it helps to write down exactly what I want to say before I go so I can argue back when they want to try yet another drug with awful side effects etc and while I am saying no, he is writing the prescription. I even thrust the piece of paper under his nose once :o

OK that is my medical rant over but I hope my concern for LW came through it and also wanted to say, please don't leave us, I would miss the tales ... and tails ... of your doggy visitors.

Gosh I will be glad to go back to work for a rest after this weekend and still have more to do so will say bye for now with well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or want them, those are special well wishes and hugs for LW.

Have a super day everyone :)

Lovely day even though it is cold and frosty.
DH ,DD and DS went car booting with FIL this morning they were disgusted it cost £1 each to get in and it was rubbish, mostly dealers, so they won't be going back to that one in a hurry.
Took the chicken out of the fridge and it is not defrosted, so I have left it on the side to see if it defrosts a bit quicker.
Here is the hot water bottle cover that I have just finished, not too bad seeing as it is my own pattern

    afternoon all!

LW - (((Hugs))) Louie and Mig are sending big doggy kisses to you x x x

RR - Happy Birthday to your DH:beer:

Butterfly - fab hot waterbottle cover - well done!:T

we went to the Victorian Fayre in Worcester yesterday evening. It was absolutely packed and my poor hands were agony so we ended up getting warm in As*da.
I'm asking DH to get me some heated gloves for Christmas to see if they help. Reynauds is no fun in winter:( it spoils every outing as all I can think about is the pain and numbness in my fingers. I had 2 pairs of gloves on last night - one special ones with silver in them and a leather pair. Made no difference.

On the plus side we did meet up with DS1 which was lovely.:)

We also treated ourselves to a takeaway pizza for tea.

Today I'm cleaning and have decided to put my tree up after all. Its a pop up one and is fab! am really pleased with it.:)

I've done the grocery shopping and later have some ironing to do plus a few presents to wrap and cards to write.

Roast chicken for the chaps for tea and some veggie tart for me.

Have a great day all x

Thank you all for being so kind - and patient with me! Specially thanks to TTFTM.:A The rheumy has just kicked me off her books (after 3 years of trying to get rid of me) because she says nothing untoward has shown up in the blood tests and she has nothing further to offer me. When I asked her why, then, I was in so much pain, she just shrugged and said "I dunno" and dismissed me.:( So no help there - plus I'm terrified of the woman!

Currently waiting for GP referral to the pain clinic, which won't be until into the New Year.

Thank the gods for Mr LW - he comes to every appt with me:A; to be honest, I have no fight left in me now.

Bless him, he's helped me make a quiche and a blackberry'n'apple crumble this morning - we're going to eat in a couple of mins, he's doing some chips to go with the quiche. (I didn't eat at all yesterday, too tired to bother).

Hopefully be back later, or at least tomorrow.;)

And thank the gods for the MSE OS Boards!:T:T:T You lot are the best!:A
