I love tinsel, I think you can get cheap horrible tinsel and lovely thick tinsel. Each to their own but I think a tree without tinsel is like going out with only your knickers on - not quite fully dressed.

Haha this made me laugh...know what u mean about the tinsel quality, makes allthe difference.

I dont hate it but definitely don't love it. Have a couple of thick pieces made into garlands but don't think they've been used for a few years.

I dont tink there will be room on the tree this year...

  • No, don't put it on the tree, my tree doesn't look bare at all, it looks lovely, don't need the tinsel on it.
  • I think it depends on how old and what colour it is and how it ties in with your home.

We have a christmas tree with white and red baubles and all the special ones I've got the last 7 years from my son and yesterday him and hubby took it upon themselves to get some really thick white and clear thick tinsel, must say it's a bit ott but they spent all the afternoon decorating it whilst i cooked dinner it would hurt their feelings to remove it and do it again!

Not on the tree but anywhere else is acceptable.
  • I have hated tinsel for years, hated with a passion but bf was adamant he was putting his tinsel on the tree as it would look nice...I was skeptical but i must say it looks perfect! absolutely devine :) I would post a picture but I'm not sure how haha

It is luscious, thick, quality tinsel though

  • I absolutely love it! When I was younger I'd put it all over my room (not so much now, haha!). I used to play in a few Christmas concerts and used to love dressing my sax up in tinsel - I hope he didn't mind :D

I'm a fan but like many of you I don't put it on the tree.

I prefer strings of beads and other garlands, more delicate looking I suppose, and there's not much room after I put on all the ornaments that need to go on (our current tree is only 3 feet!).

Elsewhere though, the more the better :D
If I don't restrain myself the inside of our house (and my office!) looks like an explosion in a tinsel factory

We're exactly the same. Always had it in my room when younger and put some round my clarinet and in my hair like a bobble!
