Tinsel -love it or hate it?

There's a lot of tinsel hate here. I personally love it on the tree - not so much elsewhere though. I have 4 pieces of tinsel on my 6ft tree - gold, red, purple, it works well with the baubles, bows and bells. If I didn't have it I'd need a lot more baubles to make up for it!0

No tinsel in this flat! Occasionally it can work but 9/10 it looks tacky so I just avoid it. The tree looks full enough with bells, icicles, glass candy canes, snowflakes and lights. Some berries around candles and frosty looking flowers.0

I love tinsel x0

I always hated tinsel with a passion but since I had my son I realised - so what if the tree looks tacky? What could be more tacky that a tree - inside - covered in bits of tat? The tackier the better I say now. All part of the fun.0

It has to be really full and fluffy tinsel not drab and bare with a few bits poking out, and it can only go on the tree.0

I love chunky tinsel but NEVER on my tree, I have a real thing against tinsel on my tree! I do love really chunky tinsel wrapped around huge real Christmas trees. My tree has very delicate decorations but if I had another huge one I would just do lights and tinselBest wins in 2013 £200 and Mini iPad. 2014 no wins. 2015 2 nights 5* hotel with £300 vouchers plus £1150 Harrods gift card

Love tinsel!
I went through a few years of finding it tacky and wanting to avoid it, but now I love it again. I have really narrow (like half a centimetre thick) gold tinsel on the main tree. It looks lovely, and not tacky at all.
Then I have purple tinsel on the white tree, which yes, does look kind of tacky, but sometimes that works!:rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf:0 -
I LOVE TINSEL. Who cares if it's tacky - it's shiny! I would cover everything in tinsel if I could, including myself.0

I love tinsel, I think you can get cheap horrible tinsel and lovely thick tinsel. Each to their own but I think a tree without tinsel is like going out with only your knickers on - not quite fully dressed.0

I have tinsle everywhere  On the tree..around the room..around the tv..around the picture on the wall..around the window.
