I think that the boost of knowing there is only 1 left will be good.
It's frightening to think how much interest we pay. But by using the payable figure I know that everything I pay off it will actually reduce it. Rather than thinking that it's going then realising that £100 of the payment is going on interest!Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
Morning all!
Well so far it has been a really good day! I've paid off the rest of my bed this morning (they didn't charge me for early repayment) Which means there is only the small loan and the A and L OD to go!!!
I'm not going to be able to do anything about the Loan until Friday when I can get into the bank, and the OD will also be dealt with on Friday. I want to work out my budget before I transfer the money over. Then I can start saving for my holiday!
But it is a wonderful feeling to know that everything is going to be paid off and I'll be left with one monthly payment again. I feel like I'll be able to plan for the future a bit better now.
Anyway onwards and upwards, I'm aiming for a low spend day today as I have to post some Amazon parcels tonight.
Have fun everyone!

Right I have just worked out to have about £500 ready for my possible holiday in May I need to be saving £55 a month.
Now I'm not paying so much in debts this hopefully wont be that hard, but I want to be able to over pay on my loan as well. So by cancelling all of my little debts I am saving myself about £225 a month
So I can actually put £55 into holiday savings and £50 into debt savings (at least) a month and still have a £125 buffer
I was thinking that any money I have in my account at the end of the month can be split in 2 and the split again between my savings account i.e if I have £200 left at the end of the month £100 stays in the account and £100 gets split between my 4 savings accounts.
I want to try and build up a buffer in my main account as I no longer have an OD :T
Does that sound sensible? Then once I have some decent money in my debt savings pot I can pay a lump off the loan.Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
Ok I have just picked up 3 stocking fillers for Christmas. Sainsburys have 3 for £3 on all sweet tudes, so I have got Maltesers, M and M's and Minstrels! I thought I should make a start while they are on offer!Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0

Morning!
Everything is still going good. it's payday tomorrow and then on Friday I am going into the pay off the rest of my small loan :T and then I will sort out my A and L transfer and pay the off to.
Feeling much better about everything today, I had a good nights sleep and I have loads of work to do, but I'm ok.
Just a quick update, will probably write more later.
Hope everyone has a good day xCurrent debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
ooo I have just spoken to my Boss and Head of Department about getting some training or doing some course and my HoD has been speaking to all sorts of HR type people!!
I wonder what he's thinking of getting me to do? Or if he is working out if they can spend any money on me. I can't afford any training on my own, but it would be great if the company could pay for it!
Wish me luck!!Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
