I have been issued with a parking fine £60 by uk parking at Ealing, saying I had failed to display ticket.

I had bought a ticket for £10 and stuck it on but clearly it wasn't sticky enough and fell off. The parking company are rejecting the appeal, despite proving I had a valid ticket.

Is there anything I can do, I feel very annoyed because I did pay for a ticket.

Is this a private parking fake ticket ? Can you give the exact name of who issued this ?
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?
  • If it's Ealing Council, try the "fluttering ticket" defence:

Just to say that I used this very successfully recently at the informal appeal stage with a council. OP if you do use it (council only - don't bother at all with a PPC operating on behalf of themselves) then tailor it to your circumstances don't just copy and paste as nis and include a scan of the ticket you purchased. Keep the original ticket though - thats your evidence.

    Cheers

  • uk parking, so its either uk parking control or uk parking patrol. In either case ignore.

Is it a Parking Charge Notice?
Private parking companies cannot issue fines.
I think that you are liable for their losses, which (since you paid for the ticket) are zero.
  • Thank you all for your replies.
    Here is some more info:
The pcn was issued by PCN Parking Services on behalf of UK Parking Ltd., both of which are allegedly members of BPA (British Parking Association) but can't find them on the BPA website's list of members.
The BPA logo appears on the pcn and the reply rejecting the appeal.
The name of the PCN Parking Services Manager is Adam Dennis.
Is this definitely a scam? And should be reported to whom?

Are you absolutely sure of those company names?

I too cannot find them on the BPA Members list, so if you'd answered the question taffy posed in post #2 we would have told you not to appeal. If not in the BPA then they cannot get registered keeper data from the DVLA and hence ignoring them would have meant that they could not contact you or follow up on their 'ticket'.

    No matter.

Off to the DVLA with a complaint about them using the BPA logo on their paperwork, copy it to the BPA and let the DVLA know you have done this. Also, Trading Standards might be interested but with any luck the DVLA will refer it to them and they may take it extra seriously if it comes from them.

Ignore Adam Dennis and his parking company - it is indeed a scam.

Yes its definitely a scam, these companies cannot legally issue penalties which this is. Just ignore them. About the names, the first one is a payment portal for scammers, the second uses them to take payment, though I aint heard of these ones before, though there are a number of similar named parking companies.

That's not a parking company, that's a 'payment website' created by Roxburghe and sold to various PPCs to use.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
