Youre right, 8 isnt old for a cat, did he just go to sleep then and not wake up.
Sometimes, us in answering dont know whether you want to talk about him or not, so if you want to talk about him and if it makes you feel better then talk away, we have so many pet owners on here and lots who have been through what you are going through now.[/QUOTE]
I was at work in the evening last night. My Ds 15 was at home getting ready to go and see a show with his granparents. He said he was looking like low energy for around 5 mins before then just laid down outside my bedroom door and past away. He was brought for my son when he ws 4 (oh my I have lost a few years he was 11 yrs old not 8)!! They called me at work around 9pm. I was in abit of a state and left work early. Come home and said goodbye. The good thing I guess was he has been eating fine and appeared fine so didnt suffer.0 -
Take the time to grieve. I didn't and was dealing with work the following day when I was at the vets paying for the cremation and ended up crying down the phone to a solicitor (my boss had said I could take the day off but needed to take my phone with me)
I've still got my cats ashes as I don't know what to do with them (and maybe can't quite find it in myself to say goodbye to her again).
You need time to get over it - and that's at your own pace. Don't let anyone else tell you when you should be back to 'normal' again.Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
I'm so sorry for such a sudden loss

In case you have any "what if...." kind of thoughts....one of our beautiful ferrets died earlier this year, and despite having a post mortem done, we still don't know what caused him to be taken from us. Post mortems don't always show up every cause of death...sometimes, I guess, we just have to accept that it was their time to go home. It's so very hard.
Be kind to yourself
