I already have the bread maker in the utility room. I will get one by hook or by crook, whether it will be the Magimix or not I don't know but I will have one. Watch this space.

I have moved house and will be having a new kitchen some time this year so the Magimix is back on! :j

Am surprised though that they haven't updated the model in six years!

Perhaps it is a case of if it's not broke leave it well alone, so many updated products end up being less robust or not performing as well as the original I have found.

I had a Magimix 3100 for donkeys years and when it died I eventually replaced it with a 3200, lovely except the 3100 had large bowl and accessories to suit and a mini bowl, the new one has 3 bowls, the grating attachment is supposed to be used on the mini bowl which has to stay in the large bowl and all the bits go down through the slot in the middle and means that both bowls are dirtied a real PITA. Love Magimix really though so robust and my Kenwood Chef Titanium:D

Only last week I put my magimix 3200 on the worktop, it was away out of sight and already I have used it several times, last time chopping veg for a casserole, time before making breadcrumbs to mix with pesto to top fish. I have kmix, big pretty cream one, bamix, vitamix, small zojirushi bread maker, an expensive and now old churning ice cream maker tucked away until warmer weather. I use each and every gadget, I have a couple more too. If I didn`t use them they would have gone the way of marie kondo but I love and use them all and they do make my life easier

If I was starting from scratch then magimix would come first, if I could only have one thing

My magimix lives on the worktop. Best bit of kit I've ever bought

As for updating, you cant improve on perfection :)

Ha, just did a search on whether I should buy the Magimix and this thread came up, didn't realise that I had updated it. New kitchen is in and I have almost £200 in vouchers to put towards the cost with John Lewis so I am pressing the button.

This is second-hand info from an aunt who is a serious cook (and used to be a professional caterer). I asked her a while ago which "mixi" she would recommend and it was Magimix, which apparently sails through the toughest of jobs and lasts.

As a non-cook I then went ahead and bought a Kenwood on offer that I have yet to use...

I am most disappointed that my John Lewis delivery has been delayed. Hopefully will be delivered to store tomorrow. Been looking at lots of YouTube videos. Saw a great pasta one that used both the Magimix and the kitchenaid with pasta attachment, both of which I have. Pity I am now diabetic!

I have the 5200XL, and have done for years.

It's excellent and there's not one thing that I would either need or want to change.
