That is true whether they are returned or not, so it cannot make a difference where they are returned to, can it?0 -
I thought so, too...Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

I suspect this is only the case if you do not have the receipt or proof of purchase for distance sales.halibut2209 wrote: »Not if they return to a store.
Returning to a store though is merely a way of restoring the goods to them so doesn't affect the right to a refund. At most they could still charge a fee covering the direct cost of the store returning the goods to the warehouse.0 -
But surely under DSRs the buyer is entitled to a full refund upon cancellation?
That is true whether they are returned or not, so it cannot make a difference where they are returned to, can it?
It may be written in to T&Cs that stores cannot accept DSR returns. A lot of retailers do this meaning stores cannot refund P&P and that sort of thing. To cancel under DSR you may need to contact a certain department and arrange return through that department, and returning to store is considered returning under their returns policy.0 -
Exactly. Returning to a store is taking advantage of Debenham's returns policy and should you choose to use this instead of DSRs then you are bound by that policy. The OP cannot arbitrarily say "I'm returning under DSRs and I am deciding that I can return instore"One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

Yes, technically yes, and no.
There's a time and place for being nitpicky, and this isn't one of them. It's well known that in theory DSRs state that a retailer must refund whether or not the goods are returned. But in practice this would not happen. One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0
