            What's the VSP challenge?

Transferred some fabric softener I buy in bulk into a smaller bottle so I use less and don't clog up the machine either
Repaired a pair of trousers.
Thought about what presents to buy that are cheaper and greener than usually buy. And maybe UK made. The whole avoid buying tat thing.

Probably won't explain this well:o
You "round down" your bank account to the nearest £5 or £10 and transfer the difference to a savings account and hopefully have a nice pot of money at the end of the year!:T
I've always done it to the nearest £10 so some weeks, it'll be £8 or £9 but other weeks only £1 or £2 so it does tend to balance out.

Thanks! That's interesting. I guess it also forces you to keep an even sharper eye on your account too :T

Such payments are called "Faster Payments" and would usually take less than two hours to complete. They often complete in 5 minutes.
This time limit applies 7 days a week. Payments would only go slower if the bank delayed the payment for additional security checking.

:cheesy: Try to make 5m of wallpaper border stretch to 5.1m of wall. There's usually a little extra on each roll. Here's hoping. Otherwise I need to go buy another roll.
Yay, managed it. £5 saved.:rotfl:Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -
Morning! Why am I up so early? Cos the gas boiler has fallen off the wall!!! Photo's on my Facebook page if you know me that well. Latest DFW actions:
~Sold old freezer yesterday on Gumtree. Handy £35. I wrote in the ad "sorry I cannot deliver"; four people emailed me asking if I could deliver. Spent some of money on wallpaper for kitchen.
~Did a temporary repair to garden fence which had fallen over using bits from my late father's toolbox. £0. Also found two planks in a ditch(!) to precisely fill two missing spaces in the fence. That's £10 saved. I was just walking down to the local shop and saw that someone had fly-tipped a whole garden fence; so I wombled two bits of wood, hoisted them on my shoulder and marched home with them. I have no shame!:rotfl:That should do til Spring.
~Cleared half the derelict vegetable patch in the back garden. Now we have a nice view of the bird feeder and OH can get on with planting veg in the Spring. Birds appreciated the worms too.
~Posted a Wanted ad for free long nails and screws on Freecycle. (Link.)
~OH bought food in bulk at a discount and put in new chest freezer for Christmas.

OMG! Did it literally just fall off?
Hope you can get someone out quickly (do the HA have 24/7 cover?) - it's bloomin' freezing here this morning & I'm cold enough so can only imaging
 - lots of layers and hot drinks will be needed I think
Great news on selling the freezer (I hate it when people ask things that you've clearly stated!) and :T to the bits of fencing!
Your new garden sounds fab - must go & find something to feed the birds in mine as it's frozen solid out there and I'm taking pity of them - and I very much doubt the cats will be going out - they like their warmth too much! ..... I'd love to get a bit of a veg patch organised next year so will be looking for tips in a few months!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
