Sat/Sun 1st/2nd December - What small DFW things will you do today?

:cheesy:When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important. :money:
Morning folks.
This post is a work in progress. I'll add to it throughout the day. Today I shall:
 Think about what else I need to buy for Christmas. Got most of it in Oct as we were moving house in Nov.
:cheesy: Check that yesterday's no-spend Quidco check-ins (Link) have confirmed. Should be a reward of 50p for not spending!
:cheesy: Try to make 5m of wallpaper border stretch to 5.1m of wall. There's usually a little extra on each roll. Here's hoping. Otherwise I need to go buy another roll.
:cheesy: Enjoy watching garden birds in new home. Free entertainment.

morning All, thanks for starting us off Ally

My list for this weekend:
Give birth - yep, still waiting
Do as much as I can in the next hour and a half that DD is at dancing to make space in the lounge so we can put our tree up later :j
Meals from stores - pizza dough already in breadmaker - makes double, will freeze the other half for another time
bit of washing on to keep on top of it, will dry inside
maybe take DD swimming, using our passes, so no charge
Wrap some Christmas presents (otherwise the tree will be lonely without them
)
try not to spend and money and have 2 NSD
List some more on e*bay if I get chance, already have watchers on some of what I listed last night and 1 bid :j
See if I can work out how to bump my own post on the FB selling group rather than reposting
think that's all for now, will be back on later to catch up with everyone

Morning all
thanks to Ally for starting us off (good luck with the wallpaper:eek:) and Jonno - when's your actual due date?
I really can't believe we're into December already - where has this year disappeared to!
I seem to have a very big list
DAILY TASKS
· Have bath
· Thermals on ..... heating off
· B / L / D from stores Quiche for lunch & Salmon for dinner
· Don’t smoke – Day 50 today!
· Check online banking
· Sort cats
· Tidy up
· Check spreadsheets / savings pots up to date
· Get to grips with S*buck
· Check cat food swap / sale site
· Check e*bay listings
· Look for more stuff to e*bay & add to growing stash!
· Knit DMs Christmas scarf .... running out of time!
· Try to have a walk
EXTRAS FOR TODAY:
· Sign up to new VSP Challenge for 2013 Done! I have my number & 1st round down done – I can’t believe I didn’t know about this earlier as I’ve done this for yonks!
· Check online banking is working for new RBS account as got email saying it's up & running
(that was quick!) Done!
· Transfer money from main account to new RBS account Done - just did small transfer - will transfer more once I know it’s working OK! Yay! 1st transfer arrived safely! (not sure how long these take to go through but quite impressed esp as it's a Saturday!) Will transfer the other bit tomorrow!
· Work on budgets for month so I know exactly what's what! Getting there - not a lot is the answer!
· Mobile – next cashback claim can go in! Download & save bills to folder for record / print one copy of each / fill in paperwork & take a copy / quick covering letter – check everything (they like any excuse to get out of paying these!) & put in envelope ready to post on Monday Arrrrgggghhhh – bill’s not produced until the 2nd – will need to add to tomorrow’s list!
· Find camping stove & put somewhere handy (for power cuts)
· Sort stuff to go to DMs tomorrow – really looking forward to simple things like .... having my dinner cooked for me & being able to tickle Maisie’s (dog) tum .... missing her loads & can’t wait to see her!
· Washing & hang up Done
· Ironing
· Start searching online for Xmas pressies
· Hope 10% off voucher comes today so I can order dog & cats' food – been waiting for this for ages now!
· Finish marking up weekday "to do" notebook (weekend one finished!) Starting to get really annoyed about this - still not here
· Find out how much car tax would be for 6 months and not full year to try to split service/mot/tax so they're not all in the same month! Current tax disc states £55 & told £100 for year but online it says £66 for 6 months & £120 for year (confused!) at least it gives me an idea tho’!

Morning all. It's blinking nippy here today and I can't get motivated to do anything.

I had a bit of a blip yesterday but it was a joint spending/saving day in a round-about sort of way. I'm getting fed up with my e-mail account getting hacked and virus laden PC being unusable for my business so I bought an iPad. I could have paid £579 at the @pple store and then pay £15pm for the data roaming fee. Even with £12 cashback it's a lot of money  Decided to get one through my mobile supplier for £179 and paying £27pm. I also dropped my mobile contract by £5pm at the same time. Working out the maths, I'm paying an extra £7 for 24 months (£168) added to the cost comes to £347 saving me a total of £220. I hope you all followed that waffle!!:D
Today's list so far:- hot, filling porridge for breakfast
- fed and watered the chickens
- checked banking
- checked for surveys
- updated Micr0s0ft M0ney
- awaiting call from BT regarding my e-mail account
- clear out fridge and use up all scraps
- do freezer inventories of both freezers
- do larder inventory
- re-jig basic meal plan I wrote yesterday to include treasures from above inventories
- DH opening fireplace in lounge to burn free wood collected over the years
- all meals from stores
- no downloading paid-for "useful" apps on iPad
- have an NSD
I think that will be enough for today and I'll update tomorrow

Are you sure it was this one you looked at before? I thought it was a simpler one without the extra borders around each square. I can do calcs for this one if it's the one you prefer. Just let me know.... xMaking magic with fabricLight travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.0 -

It was the second one. I'll do calcs for both for you then. Can't do it til this evening as I've emptied fridge and freezers so need to get that finished first. Why does housework have to come before a stitching project???
