Galaxy Ace £71 at carphone warehouse sim free

I have been looking to get a samsung galaxy ace for DS xmas, and they we're all around £99 plus £10 top up price. Went in to CPW and done a payg upgrade (just used an old sim) and got it for £71. Asked the guy if it was ok to add her tesco contract mobile and he said yes the phone is unlocked to any network. I though £71was alright for a small smart phone.

how does this work? is it a trade in your old payg mobile for a new payg mobile? keep your current sim card?

No need to trade in an old phone:

Not sure if the £10 topup is mandatory though?

If the phone is unlocked you could either keep using your current sim, or use a new one of your choice.

If you are willing to risk a cashback (redemption) and Topcashback deal, you could end up paying around £45 for 18 months worth of minutes (100), texts (500) and data (250mb) - T-Mobile. You do have to pay £20.50 per month until your 1st claim and then it's self-financing when you start getting your cashback.
    Free phone (unlocked).

Sometimes much better deals than this, but cheaper ones are scarce at Xmas times.

EDIT: the deals would be with Mobiles.co.uk or a similar deal with e2save - both CPW companies.
